Super excited chipping news today. My quest to get a completed rack of 1998 Bellagio $5 chips is complete with the arrival of 9 chips that @Jackstraw sent. First of all, big thank you to the PCF community who has been on the lookout for these for me. This rack was a labor of love that took years to complete.

The upside is I'm already 5 chips into the next rack. The bad news is right now I have about 80 good condition $5s and about 25 bike tires. Eventually if I can get enough good ones I'll replace them with the bike tires, but if not, better to have them as they are hard enough to find.

The upper denominations are even more difficult and expensive to find, but I'm working on picking them up as I can.

If anyone has a lead on more bellagios, besides the 1s please let me know. Enjoy!

$1 - 331
$5 - 105
$10 - 2
$20 - 3
$25 - 1

This is fantastic, love seeing a lot of hard work paying off.

I’ve thought of doing this with live chips from Bellagio, but even that seemed to be an expensive endeavour.

That's great man! It's awesome that you've been building this set for years!!!!

These babies arrived together today. Nothing like 9 $5s at once. Currently at 130 of them. At this rack, rack #2 will be completed in 2022.

The problem is the price of these keep going up. Insane doesn't describe a couple of the recent prices. I'm pretty much not even considering getting to the barrel of $25 chips that I hoped if this continues. Here are a few of the last auction prices on them.

I'm going to be at the Beau Rivage next month and might just pick up a barrel of live $25 chips as it will be cheaper.

And I thought I had it bad with live Caesars.. but those bellagios are something else, love the edge spots, colors, grand inlay, and progression.. classy as hell. Totally get it, GL with the search!

Those prices are crazy high. Gorgeous chips but how do you justify spending that much.
Your set looks great by the way.

This is awesome

I can appreciate your patience in building up the set. Especially the challenge, on the higher denominations. Looks great. Can't wait to see the update in 2022.

Ah, magical Bellagio... played there one time, for one hand.. during my vacation in Vegas I tried many of the casinos but Bellagio was the one I wanted to try out the most. After waiting for an hour to get into their $2/5 game I bought in for $500. On the very first hand I got dealt 77 and after a preflop raised pot I somehow was able to get it all in on a A-T-7 board vs AJ. But after seeing a K on turn and a Q on river I elected to stand up and leave an let my Bellagio experience stay at that one hand.

Good luck finding more of those chips!

Awesome. I have a single $1, $5 and $10 chip and I exactly know why you collect these beauties!! Would love to own such a set. Dibs if you sell it anytime, pleas. (Which will never ever happen.)

wow this just made my jaw drop HAHA!

Has it really been 15 months since I posted this?

Hard to believe! Anyways, I needed to stand up from my desk for a bit today as I've been sitting down way too much this week and figured I take a few pictures of the set as it stands so you can see real time how long it takes to build a set one chip at a time.

Good news is I'm done collecting $1s which was nice to get to that point. I might even pick out some better conditioned ones and cull it down to 3 racks of the best conditioned chips. These are available in abundance and I had no difficultly being selective this year while still adding on another rack. Regarding the $5 chips, I've missed only a few that have come across my radar this year being too slow to respond on PCF or not wanting to pay more than the insane price I'm already paying on Fleebay. The upside is this year was probably the most I've seen that denomination out in the wild and managed to add over 50 to the flock. Beyond that, I still can't shake loose those upper denominations without paying insane prices. The individual chip collectors just won't let them go for less. A $10 chip has been sitting at $149.99 on Fleebay for the better part of the year. Please...

Anyways, current set is:

$1 - 402 (2 not pictured)
$5 - 162
$10 - 3
$20 - 3
$25 - 2

Looks like I'm just going to make this! I thought I had posted when I completed the second rack of $5, but apparently I did not...sorry y'all. I moved a while ago and haven't gotten out my table for some proper pictures, so this is all I've got, but here is the current set:

$1 - 402

$5 - 201

$10 - 3

$20 - 3

$25 - 2 Bellagio

$25 - 20 Live Beau Rivage

$100 - 20 Original $100 Matsui President Plaques

I haven't purchases single chip for the set in almost a year at this point as I can't stomach the $30/chip on the $5 and $100-150/chip price point for then other denominations (the new house and furniture is also a prime cause...).

Wow! I thought I might be starting to gain a little on you with 120 $1s...not even close! :ROFLMAO:

My sons know how the $10 chip is my all-time favorite, and tried to pool their money to buy me one on eBay for Christmas. My son came to me and said, "Sorry dad, we tried to win it for you but were outbid" at something like $165....
I said, "What?!?!, thank GOD you didn't spend that much!"

I love the chip, but man, the prices are nuts.

Got a while to go before you get there ;). Tell your kids to stop driving up the prices lol. But yeah the prices are beyond insane and I soley blame the singles collectors. It seems this is one sample set that's a "must have."

These Bellagio chips hold a special place in my heart too! It was my first real experience in Vegas, so I always get great feelings when I see them! Great collection!!!
