Crown and Elephant (1 Viewer)

Just came across these and picked them up. Anyone had a set like this in the past? I don’t know very much about them.

They are pretty dirty and will take some time…here is some pRon

Elephant and Crown is one of the molds currently offered by CPC. Have seen very few examples of this mold on members' custom sets. Siam Imperia was a particularly good one, if I remember correctly.

These look a little older. The whites has green speckles in the chip

I think the green speckles are verdigris. Someone posted relatively recently on how to get rid of it.

Anything can be cleaned in an ultrasonic. It's what detergent you use that seems to be the problem.

this is “non TSP” TSP - would this work?

Even metasilicates can cause damage to ASMs. They can feel tacky after cleaning, which means there is some surface reaction.

I wouldn't ultrasonic any inlaid CPC's, or even submerge them.

Scrub them but don't dunk'em. There is a track record of Cpc inlays getting discolored or ruined by submersion.

Simple green will most likely degrade these chips. I have a bunch of white ones similar to yours, I sacrificed a couple doing experiments and mine began to disintegrate after a short soak. I would do Dawn and warm water for the gunk, then oil. Embrace their "classic" look....if you want chalky newness, you cant get there from here.

That is where I am at. 15 or so chips a night won’t be too bad
