Criss Cross: New (to me) Game Strategy (1 Viewer)

Several AC casinos are spreading a table game on the casino floor called Criss Cross Poker; it's a house game with fixed payoffs using the cross layout. They may not be playing a true poker game with this variant in the poker room.

Yeah this I've seen. Never seen it in the poker room though.

We called it Iron Cross and played it as a match pot game. If you called the bets after the fourth card was turned face up, you were in no matter what.
If you lost you matched the pot, we played it one rotation, last hand everybody goes, nobody owes.

Calling all circus game players:

We played a variation of this at Chateau de Noix, called "3 or 5" I believe. I skimmed through this thread, but I am hoping that some of you may now have more experience with variations of this game.

I am thinking of calling it tonight in our mixed game. Either a high/low version, where best overall high and best overall low will split (8 qualifier)...or a split between the best high hands on each board (horizontal & vertical).

Your thoughts, please.

Should either version play well?
Should we deal 5 down cards or 4?
Should we require exactly 3 hole cards must play, like in "3 or 5"?
