Hi Guys,

I am new to the game and never used clay poker chips, I really enjoy poker so decided to make my own set from CPC. I really like the Paulson's but unfortunately they are way out of my budget and are hard to come by. I spent a couple of hours playing with the different colors and combinations and have come up with the following. I will need 6 chips ($1, $5, $25, $100, $500, $1000) and with go with one of the following 2 orders:

Blue, White, Red, Navy, Orange, Charcoal
OR
White, Red, Green, Navy, Orange, Charcoal

I feel right now I have a bit too much pink (which I feel is essential to my Navy, Orange and Charcoal chips) and the green is tricky to work with to make it stand out. I want to show a progression hence each chip color can be drawn from the previous (small denomination) chip. And I also want to show that by having different edgeworks. I am very new to this so appreciate if someone experienced can be kind enough to give me some input. Thanks!

Regards,
J

At first glance, I'd say branch out from the 3d14 and 4d14 spot patterns on your $5/25/100/500. Also your color to denomination correlation could be confusing. Usually white/blue= $1, red = $5, green =$25, black =$100, purple =$500, yellow/orange = $1000. None of these are obviously set in stone, but for white $5s and red $25s would be really confusing. Lastly have you thought about a fractional chip $.25/$.50? I don't know what limits your game usually plays but they tend to be handy unless you're only playing $1/2 and up. Good luck!

Thanks for the prompt reply. I am based in Hong Kong so our games are usually 5-10 / 10-20 HKD (denomination is in HKD). The baby blue is for $1 in case very rarely some people decide to play 2-5 blinds. I will most likely opt out the top right and bottom left designs. So I will be left with bably blue, white, red, navy, orange and charcoal.

Updated the design. I am also open of getting rid of the baby blue, and starting with the white, then process to red, green, navy, orange and charcoal. But personally I feel the green is tough to nail and is a difficult color to make it work (I was originally going to skip the green). I prefer the original design / color for the Navy chip but it may be too similar to the Orange? (would be great if someone can help me out here) And do you guys prefer the charcoal or the chocolate as the biggest valued chip? There will be a $ denomination under the HOMIES logo. Any feedback (esp with the edge progression / color combination) will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ok so I decided to get rid of the green and start with baby blue (as $1), white (as $5), red (as $25), navy (as $100), orange (as $500), charcoal (as $1,000). However I am still facing the problem of maybe having too much pink in my last 3 chips, and am not exactly happen with the color combination of the red. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Was just passing through and decided to have a little fun. Sticking with mostly your base colors and spot patterns from your last post, I just wanted to give you some more ideas to get rid of some of the white from the lower denoms and pink from the upper denoms.
