CPC FDL Mock-up (4 Viewers)

After seeing how thin some lines came out when printed, I fattened them up a bit. 2 pixels = non existant, 4 pixels = barely noticeable, So I'm going to 6. Ive also outlined the 5000 in white - because everybody loves a creamy filling...

Here's the mocks:

Happy/relieved to hear some love for the 5000 (Chocolate Chip). While admittedly it isn't panning out to be my absolute favorite, it is by far the most expensive chip in the entire set at Level 9. It will also be the biggest chip in play unless a rebuy frenzy breaks out (which has been known to happen).

I'm too lazy to see if it's already been addressed but are the denoms intentionally "cut off" on some chips? That would tilt me to no end but to each his own. Some of the text is also waaaaaayyyyy too close to the edge imo.

Yes, most of the denoms are "cut off" (runs into the the bleed area) as does the sombrero. This "untidy" effect is intentional, in the same way that some part of the zombie or his "prop" extends outside of the inner ring in every chip except the 1000 back (because he is working in a sealed lab).

As for the text to the edge, I have reduced the size of the inner ring and brought the text in with it as well. My attempts to bring the text in medially any further:
  • Shrinking the Text - this results in reducing the font size to something smaller the "Caesars Palace" text on a Caesars Palace Las Vegas chip, which uses the smallest font casino name on any chip in my collection. I used this as a benchmark for minimum readability.
  • Reducing the Circumference of the Inner Ring - The kerning is so tight, that base of each letter is already touching. As the interior ring gets smaller, the gap at the top of the letters gets further, and further apart, resulting in a "broken" look. I want the chips to look cartoony and a little colored outside of the lines, but not broken.
  • Removing the Text - This was the best option of the 3, but the chip was looking empty to me. I could put it up as an option if there was a request to see it.

If anyone has suggestions beyond the ones noted above I'm willing to give it a try. I've have a lot of fun with this so far, and went from Photoshop ignorant to Photoshop competent (but far from professional) in the course of these chips.

In general, I'm not a big fan of zombies (except you).... but you've done such an outstanding and creative job with these designs that I simply ~must~ have a sample set. Please add me to the list if still available.

I've been trying to avoid getting a sample of these as well, but I don't think I can.

If there is still room, please include me for 1 sample set.

It looks like 1 Barrel of each was the way to go for samples. Only 5 left. Post #39 shows reserve list, because, yeah, 39.

That was really well thought out...

Claims made on all but 1 sample set. Hopefully, David sends these to be the first set on the newly repaired FDL mold, and they need to produce a lot more as as practice runs.

so I assume yours will be produced before mine, so I am good to have it left with CPC to include in my shipment? how much do I owe ya?

Each set comes to $15.80, plus shipping. I will be bringing the set to S@P II in Atlanta, so anyone that attends can get theirs in person and save the shipping.

I have no idea when CPC will be ready to go, though. I'm pretty sure David wants to get as many FDLs produced in a row without having to change out mold cups, so just because I'm ready, and David might be ready, does not mean the others in on the FDL revival are ready.

I'll take a sample set if still available. CaraGails has the perfect deck for your set on sale. They're not zombies, but they're still undead.

Have we paid already? Have I paid already? I can't keep track, since there are so many sample sets wants now...

So you need my monies now, or at S@P-II ? If you posted PP info, I missed it....

I've lost track of how many sample sets I've ordered in the last two weeks.

I guess I cant get yours shipped out with mine. So I will have to pay and get you to ship separately

If you end up with any extras (you are willing to part with) I would take a sample set...not sure how missed out on samples of these, but as stated earlier there are so many new sets raining form the heavens that i have lost track of what I have committed to/paid for/missed out on.....

I haven't started collecting for the samples yet. Until I get the official word that chip production has begun, I live in fear that a meteor will strike Maine and end the clay poker chip market forever. Returning monies via PayPal (or otherwise) while continually sobbing would short out my laptop. Those paying me at S@P II will be able to get their money back in mere minutes at the table.

How did I miss the sample set request list for these. They are amazing. Put me on the list if it is not too late. Thanks.

Shaggy is the first on the overflow list for sample chips. Hopefully David/JimB produce a ton of extras. I have already ordered more 25Ks for samples than I have for my own set, so while not the prettiest chip in the lot, it is the collector's item.

Links was right, my text was too close to the edge. David suggested a 2% reduction, so I'm going with that. Reduced the whole inlay art, except the denom, by 2%.

Once again the experts on PCF are always right!

On a side note, this tells me the the Zombies are nearing production! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Thanks for including me on the overflow list. Now I just need someone above me to decide they don't want the samples... lol like that will happen. Hope they send you some extras... I'm interested in a partial or blem set if that is all that is available too.

It may be possible that they will include extras. With the FDL revival, I suspect they will want as many samples out there as possible, but then again, that might be mostly wishful thinking.
