Building a custom cash set, no inlays yet.

$ .25
$ 1
$ 5
$ 20
$ 100

I stole a bunch of ideas, really like the 1, 5 and 20. Not completely sold on the .25 or 100. Any thoughts, ideas?

I like them. Different colors compared to standard. My only thought is the edge spots on the white chip may clash with the orange edge spots of the orange and gray chip.

First two are ok but I would suggest to rethink the rest.

The $5 and $20 are based on Horseshoe Casino chips that are (I believe) pretty popular. That's where I stole the ideas from, anyway. Well, Horseshoe and @Nex his tribute set is pretty awesome, IMO.

Fairly open to ideas on the $100 though?

Mildly concerned about that myself, but I want a white base for the quarter and that was what happened.

Appears you know more than I do. But we have definitely different taste....

I noticed there is no red in any of the chips. Have you played around with red edge spots in the white chip.

Have you looked at narrow spots on a bright white base? It really lets the white shine and the spots tease. Maybe a 214/314 or a 218/318/418?

For blacks, I’m partial to 3TA316 or 4D14. Gray, and some of the brighter DG colors work well.

Welcome to PCF! Good on you for jumping in head first with a custom CPC set! :)

Some helpful tips:

Take your time with your colors and spots, and even your mold. Play with the design tool a ton. I know some of the sets I designed when I first started now look weird to me. Like, what was I thinking?! Check out a bunch of custom sets on here for more ideas.

Definitely get a CPC color sample set. The actual colors can and will appear different than on your screen. Maybe get some sample stacks of the molds you think you may like. They all feel and sound different.

So true.
And the members here are crazy helpful. When I was designing my sets, the members were able to guide me in a few tweaks here and there.

I think it's a good start. I like the 5 and 20.

If I were building a set around that 5 and 20, I would change the quarter to a half pie or even a solid. You could also play around with 1TA316 to tie it in or maybe try 414. As it is the spot pattern looks too similar to the 1 and the color/spot size looks too similar to the 5 edgewise.

I like the 1 as is.

The black 100 might be too close to blurple. Lavender base on the 20 would solve this. If you're married to the blurple 20 you could try a charcoal or chocolate 100, or maybe white depending on what you do with the quarter. The black might be ok depending on your lighting but I'd get some color samples to confirm that.

The spot pattern on the 100 seems a little out of family to the set but that's ok. A complex 4- spot type pattern such as 4TA181418 or 4DS316 might look nice depending on what base color you went with. That would give a nice alternating effect across the set.

I also agree with different spots for the frac. 212, 214, or 2D14. S half pie would also work.

Thanks for the responses, everyone. For the record, I just started posting, but I've been on the forums for a couple years. I have a complete set of molds/colors, and I've lost count of how many times I've tried to design a set. That's why I just started stealing ideas I liked! ;)

Nine_high, I've been going back and forth on the lavender/blurple. In low light, there's not a lot of difference in blurple/black and I was kind of thinking the spot pattern would be enough, that being said, there's very little chance of a $100 actually being in play on my table, but it's worth pointing out. As I type this I'm remembering saying something similar about $5s and $20s... Alright, here's lavender.

Anyway, based on some of the feedback, let's try this again (still don't love the $100):

I liked the peach on the quarter and with this spot pattern it's no conflict with the 1 or 5 now. For the hundred I think mandarin or retro goes nicely on black with a neutral bright white or gray. Works well with 4D14 or I also like it with a split spot:

Lavender $20 looks nice too but I think the blurple is slightly better. Based on what you say even if the hundos come out there should be only a handful its probably fine. That said if it were my set I'd go lavender as a future proof.
