Working with p5woody on a new CPC tournament set (I think we've moved on from the first idea). Thinking of doing an Al Capone theme. Specifically a Four Deuces Club/Card room theme....I am from Chicago after all. I have a rough first draft and am looking for input and color ideas. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I like the middle one top row. Except Maybe drop private card room. I have never been a fan of any chip that has cards on the inlay. Just seems cheesy to me.

Thanks for the input. Seeing the cards now I'm not so sure either. I was thinking I could maybe have them in with the background....in like a grey or something. Also thinking more of a time period 19 20's font would be better. I still think it's missing something to tie it all together....it's still a rough draft stage tho. Maybe replace private card room with the address of the old al capone four deuces club (2222 S. Wabash)?

check out the chipguide.com for some ideas and pictures of illegal chips. I think the drafts are trying to look old have too much on them. I would start with just the name FOUR DUECES and a denom and add add and adjust.

I agree with ditching the private cardroom. I think it's too much. I was also thinking of doing a different inlay for the front and back....maybe leaving four deuces off the back. Also thinking about one white inlay and one black inlay. Still wanna try a different font. When I saw the colony club it really captured the 20's feel that I'd like to incorporate but with a seedy illegal outfit twist. I'm also kinda lost on colors. Sorry for the rambling replies....I new if you couldn't tello_O

Do you have mock ups of the chips also? Some designs may look better on actual chips.

Not exactly. Ive worked on some ideas on the design tool online....but I'm not very creative. I wanted to stay with pretty standard colors (green 25, black 100, etc.). Too keep costs down I was thinking of doing more basic 1-2 color edge spots with some progression. Sorry I don't know how the chips all in one image.Screenshot_2016-03-11-18-23-10.png Screenshot_2016-03-11-18-33-15.png Screenshot_2016-03-11-18-37-56.png Screenshot_2016-03-11-18-16-07.png Screenshot_2016-03-11-18-13-00.png

Top row center. Change the font to Art Deco.

I've never liked "Private Cardroom" on a chip. It suggests the game is very exclusive (which for a home game is probablly accurate), but the best "exclusive" clubs don't have to tell you they're exclusive, they simply are.

However if Private Cardroom is left off, it may be missing something up top - I'd have to see the mock to be certain.

Thanks. I was thinking the same thing. I found some cool 20's font that I think would work great. I might try replacing private cardroom with the address (2222 S. Wabash). What about the reverse? Should it be the same? Colors?

In the design tool click on the main chip and save as new. Do this to all the chips you want to save.

All your chips should be at the bottom like this.

Then on the left click Save as PNG

A new window should open with all your chips as a picture.

Keep that 100, it's awesome. Also, Stocky's 1k and 5k are the nuts. 3rd, damn it, I was really looking forward to the sassy black lady.....

Thanks for all the help. I'm really liking the color combos too. I'll mess with it some more this evening and post some updates.

Which of these inlay's do you prefer? The top one I'm gonna try without the private cardroom and leave the rest the same

Try printing that at label size. I'm concerned the font - particularly the thin lines in the font - will be difficult to read when really small.

I find when adding the city name on a chip, it's best to keep it a simple, sans-serif font.

I like the design in the first post, the first one in each row. Regarding the subsequent designs, not a fan of the Broadway style font. Not sure how visible it'd be on a small chip. Maybe just me.

I like your latest with gold, but without "the."

Never been a fan of color matching when going for a vintage look.
