Hey all,
What is the written or unwritten rule for designing chips that look like other production chips? (Same edge spots and colors, not necessarily similar inlay)
For instance, the Paulson Classics 1000 is one of my favorite looking chips, and the CPC design tool can get close to the original (although not quite same colors. Is that a kosher thing to do? Or is it generally frowned upon and/or potentially copywright infringement?
Would a better option be to buy the Paulson and relabel them with custom labels?

You can copy them if you want, but you will regret this decision later if you copy this chip. I can almost guarantee that.

This. Spend some time on the forum, read up and play around a lot with the design tool. It’s likely you’ll find that your taste in what constitutes a great chip will change with time. Not saying the classics are necessarily poor looking but you might regret not going with a more personal design and imho there are far better chips to copy if one wants to go down that road.

Copy spots or colors...Sure. Have at it. Especially mass produced chips. Copy a chipper’s inlay...

I have a personalized homage to the Casino Club Redding inlay in the works. Now that is fair game.
