Hello all.
New to this forum. Thank you all for the great info.
My question has to do with cards.
What are your thoughts on Copaq, KEM, other cards. Can these tpye of high end cards be customized ?
Sorry if this has been answered a million times already.
Charlie

Copaq suck - they are not acetate plastic. Too flimsy and crease easily.
KEM - suck too, but suck less that Copaq.
Modiano platinum- are the best IMO. But other acetate brands exist that are decent.
Oh good, I thought it was just me. Played in a tourney awhile back. We got Copac. "these are the best" my buddy said. They were ok, but nothing special.

Fournier is better than any of those and will supposedly do a 500 deck MOQ per color. They may be an option worth looking into.
What's MOQ? (forgive me.... im new here)

Minimum order quantity. The number you would need to buy to fulfill the order. The big card manufacturers generally will be happy to print a run of custom plastic playing cards for you. The drawback? They will usually accept orders no less than 2000 decks per design and color. So say for example you wanted custom cards in two different colors, you'd need to buy 4000 decks total minimum to have them fulfill the order.

This board tried to run a group buy last year with Dal Negro cards and came up well short of the commitment to buy to the tune of less than half the amount of decks needed to run the order.

The Old Maid cards in my kids' room aren't looking to bad. HAHAHAH

Just switched from copag to faded spade. I love the updated fresh design and how bright the white on the cards is compared to the copag's. My shuffle tech definitely likes the thinner, smoother texture of the copag's as I've never had them jam up vs the thicker faded spades, but I'll take the occasional jam in order to used the faded spades.

CopaG suck, just avoid them.
I don’t know about that.
I avoided them for years just because I’d played in a couple of cheap cardrooms that didn’t replace their copags often enough, so yeah, they usually felt like garbage.
But when I finally bought some for home use (after always going for the premium brands) I was kind of impressed. I mean, they’re not impressive, but I was impressed that they weren’t garbage.
You can find better cards for sure. And you can find cheaper cards. I can’t imagine any list that I would put copags at the top of. But they’re always available, the price is okay, and they get the job done just fine.

Same. I really like Copag.

Love KEM but get casino line, not absolutely sure but I am getting overwhelmeing feeling they have better quality control
Modiano Platinium are great cards but made only in poker size
DalNegro are great and not very pricey
Desjgn are nice cards with unique "designs", most of them printed by DalNegro

Browse Spinettis Gaming Supplies, lots of good plastic cards (although no Modiano)

I always recomend Trefls from Poland as very durable but they not for everyone... stiff, full bleed and only jumbo in poker size (for full bleed your choice is limited between Trefls and Copag Export line)

This came up way back when, when a bunch of us got KEM horseshoe Cleveland (or was it Cincinnati) setups on Amazon. The question was are casino KEMs better than retail KEMs and though a lot of us suspected they were, there was never a consensus much less an answer.

I've always been tempted to buy one of the sealed WSOP KEM decks from 2011, from the seller that has all the 2012 Fournier ones at a huge discount. They're $20 shipped. I wonder if that's on a better stock that the standard.

Oh yeah, tell me about it. I want those bad, but I just can’t do standard index. And of course I have concerns about how they’ve been stored over a decade and across multiple owners. But hell, it’s only twenty bucks, right?

If you want premium Kem buy Casino Circle from Spinetti's
Best cards I ever had, lasted 2 years and 6 months, 26 hours of play a week. I replaced them cause they become little rubbery and harder to shuffle but no bowing or warping occurred. Still have them.

I'm in. CDI tribute decks? Tiger Palace?

Let's do this.
I am All In for custom Fournier...
I wonder if they would agree to print them with Bicycle or Cartamundi pips and faces?
Can't stand Fournier pips....

Copag are meh, I don't care for KEM much either.
Desjgn are my standard, but I have been enjoying the faded spade 3.0. The closest casino also switched to faded spade in the poker room which was a huge upgrade from their KEMs.
I deal 2 bar tournaments every week and the Desjgn cards hold up so much better than everything else.
