Figured I'd upload the most recent mock ups to this thread as I'm looking to add on to my Piss'd & Broke Poker Room set with a commemorative chip that celebrates the day my son, Brayden, was born.

Top left is my original. The spotting on most was my "final" one. Bottom left spot was a new J5 suggestion. I'm not sure of yet, but a cool idea. Both right inlays are a front to back design as I was thinking of maybe using two different designs. Although any could be front/back. One other thing is I will definitely be going with oversized 1 1/16" inlay on this chip. One other thing I'm also thinking about adding is "Ltd 100" to these chips since I'm only doing one rack.

Thoughts?

Cool idea! I like the top right and bottom left.

Personally I would use the same spots and let the commemorative chips blend in with the others until the face is seen.

I have thought about doing commemerative chips before and I thoguht if the chips had a slightly different pattern then at first it would be cool "hey i got a x chip' but after 3,5,10 games the novelty wears off and I think people would go 'i dont care, i just need a $5 chip'

So to me subtlety is the key, same spots, different front, let it be more o a surprise when someone notices it rather than being glaringly obvious with the different spot.

Just my thoughts :)

Are you into astrology at all?

How about

Top Image : Prancing horse/ferrari
Middle : BRAYDON
Smaller under middle : 2014 or full date
Lower Image : Denomination
Curved around bottom : YEAR OF THE HORSE

The farrari logo could add a nice small splash of colour to the image and it fits in with the car theme of the other chips.

Bottom left! Go all out for your son. Get great spots, colors, different labels on each side. When he grows he'll have an awesome commemorative chip.

I do like the white face (lower right) and the lower middle.

One question: I don't understand why it is possessive "Brayden's." Brayden's ... what? $5? Date? Poker room? It's not clear. One thought is to replace "poker room" on the middle bottom row with birth or birthday. Then delete the date on that side. I would also consider doing something similar with the lower left which would provide a consistent approach. I would then use the label on the lower right as is on the other side. JM2c

Bottom left all the way

^^^^ +1!

Love the idea of the same edge spot plus a little bit more flair... Also love bottom left's inlay (- 's) and would do it either in black or in white, depending on how much I wanted the chips to stand out from the regular red birds

Great job man......

I have done (well, currently in production) what Mango is suggesting. Keep the spots the same as the regular chip so they will mix in with the rest and whenever someone stumbles across the commemorative in their stack, it makes it a surprise and a bit more special.

As far as inlay, top right or lower left. It goes back to the subtle but different take on this (which is again, what I did).

I like the small addition to the originals for one side and think that the top right is spot on, except for the / marks used the the dates. I much prefer the dots as I think it looks cleaner.

I kept flipping between the idea of keeping them the same, or adding something to the spot combination. I think in the end I want a little "pop" to this chip to make it slightly different which is why I'm also going to go with oversized inlays (plus they look cool and I've always wanted a reason to do one that way!). I already have 400 reds so this add on will represent 20% of the total chips.

I'm not into astrology, but if I was making a "casino" for use at a roulette or blackjack table in my personal casino (Excuse me while I drool thinking about that...) then I would be 100% doing something like modeled after the Wynn Baccarat chips.

I asked J5 to do a white inlay just do see what it would look like, but did so with some hesitation because everything is black (cloth + inlays + rail). I'm not sure if I'm a fan of it when I see it. The inlay works so well in the black. I like the bottom left, but not sure on the wording yet of everything.

I asked David for the bottom left configuration one week ago and he told me it wasn't possible. Thinking about, they could use the 414 and then add a two 218 placing on the diagonals (so i guess i didn't explain myself right with him).

Nevermind, it's possible ;). Go fo the bottom left all the way.

Oh man, I love that set. Cool idea for a commemorative chip!

I like the bottom left inlay the best but with the split 1/4" spots, just enough of a twist on the original.

Bottom left inlay and spots with bottom right reverse inlay.

Already told you this elsewhere :), but bottom left spots with top right inlay FTW.

New work from J5 based off my feedback to him. I'm still unsure of the spot combo. Just heard from David that the non split 414 is possible but being that it needs to be punched 3 times is a level 11. Ouch!

Top left on this is a for sure one side. The other three are possibilities for the other side. First glance is I'm leaning toward the top right and I'm beginning to come around to the 414 + 418 spot combo.

I like top right but changing the '7' to 'July'

I think having a full numerical date is too many numbers.

Top left no date; bottom left; lower row for spot combination. This is going to look fantastico!

FWIW, I vote for the 414 + 418 spot config. That will look amazing, but still fit in with your standard bank of $5s. Also, I agree with writing out July instead of 7. It will look less... I don't know... "technical", plus your international friends will understand it immediately. :)

Agree that 414+418 is the way to go, will go great with existing chips. I prefer top right with 27-Jul-2014 as the date.

Currently waiting on the final mockups from J5, but figured I would crop out the final versions of each chip from the last mockups to at least who you what the final I went with. Hoping you're good with that J5....

Going with a dual inlay so designs will be used. One on each side.

LTD 100?! What are you going to do with the extras, which CPC will ship with your order? :p

tapatalking ...

LOL. They will be going into his baby book, so for all purposes they won't exist except to be minty.
