So, I LOVE the ES fracs, $1, $20/25 (but really do not like the $5s).
I LOVE the AS $5 and $20 (but don't care much for the $1s)

So I'm thinking of combining the best (my favorite chips) of each set, into a single set.
But I'm not sure that they'd all work as white inlays or all work as black inlays. And not sure how well they'd look together.

My question -- has anyone made a custom set combining ES and AS chips? Can I see photos?
Seems like there is something simply incredible to be built here, I'm just not putting all the pieces together quite yet.

help!!

Can’t wait to see this, I’d go with black inlay

Do a full custom inlay to something you design! Would be sweet. I've been debating about how to proceed with my re-label ES set as well.

I started to do this for a custom relabel set, but ultimately decided I didn’t like the relabel chips as much as the originals (it’s mostly the hollow sound when stacking that drives me crazy).

Trying to fill this out as a vanilla ES set now, and will probably go with CPCs whenever I get around to customs.

I'm also building a mixed set

ES quarters
Ballys $1
AS $5/$20/$100

Just too scared start butchering them :)

I have replaced the $5s on my ES set with relabeled AS $2s. The hope was to eventually replace them with AS $5s, but I didn't have the patience.

I also have AS snappers relabeled as ES nickels.

I’d like to ask an opinion... if you had to choose a 100, 500, and 1000 between the ES quarter, 1, and 25, which chip would go to which denomination?

I completely understand the color scheme will be absolutely non standard and weird.

  • ES frac as the 500. Blue/purple is a fine color scheme
  • ES $1 as the hundo. Black/white also fits into the color scheme
  • ES $25 as the 1000 - Not great, but the least confusing unless you have 5000s and 25,000.

This is exactly what I was going to say.

my custom cali set is based on chips from both sets, but it's still in the planning stages, sorry, no pics

Is this better? 1 as 100, quarter as 500, es20 yellow trimoon as 1000?

Oh and I was gonna use ES100 as 5000 and ES500 as 25000. Super weird?

My tourney set from ES cash chips:
  • T25 = green $25
  • T100 = black $100
  • T500 = purple $500
  • T1000 = white $1
  • T5000 = red $5
  • T25000 = blue 25c
Best part about the set is that it can be used for tournaments as-is with no modifications ($1=1000, $5=5000, 25c=25000), while retaining the original cash labels.

Also considered T2000 (blue 25c) and T10000 (yellow $20) as relabel options if going that route.

I completely understand why this makes the most sense. The problem I see is: 1) The black 100 and purple 500 are very hard to find, especially the 500. It's not impossible but it would be costly for sure. If I did this I would need 3 racks of 100 and 2 racks of 500. 2) My favorite chips in the ES set, the quarters and 25's really won't get used in my game. My 3 workhorse chips are the 100, 500, and 1000. It's a relabeled high denom cash set.

So it's kind of like... I'm trying to force myself to use the 1, 25, quarters as my 3 workhorse chips.
