Hi all! New here to the site. I was hoping someone could point me in the correct direction. I'm looking for an inventory type site where I can catalog all my chips. I've seen several sites that look to have complete sets, where I can search for a chip, find it but then I want to be able to "add it" to say my own collection. I've done this with trading cards and such, so I was hoping to find something like this for poker chips as well.

Thanks!

Yes, there is. I'm not exactly sure how much it is because someone paid that for me. It's an interesting database and an easy place to save what you have and what you'd like to get. Only thing I kind of wish was if you could put how much quantity you have per chip. For that, I basically created an excel sheet with my collection. Let's say I have 3 racks of this chip, I can look down and see what I have in quantity and what I only have singles of.

"but don't use their pictures" is sort of a joke and not. Those at CG take it very seriously when others don't credit or say that they are using a picture from CG. Ultimately many of us use the pictures to show others that we are looking for that chip. There are tons of posts on TCB and Facebook where you can see this as an example.

Gotcha! That makes sense. I'm curious to know if a database like this would be useful, Say free of charge to use. Besides the development undertaking, the only real trouble i would have it building the database. I I don't have the history or knowledge of even where to find info on all the chips, other than scrounging the info off of other sites.

I think it is mainly one guy at CG, and I believe it is well known that he takes photos from the web and puts them on the CG. He has reached out to me a couple times requesting photos of chips I have to add to the website. From what I've heard, if he saw me post my own photos then he would consider it stealing from the website. The whole thing is a sh*t show.

tl;dr: go ahead and use photos from CG, let angry people yell at the clouds.

I can agree that it is one guy. He feels the need to patrol. It's a total overcomplication of everything.

I used weebly to build a website to display of my collection. I'm way behind scanning the backlog of stuff.

There is The Chip Guide is interesting.

Also, PCF has a Chip DB. Look at the Chip DB tab above. It has the ability to record data like colors etc. that allows for search.

There was also an app on the Apple app store called Collect All. Not very well illustrated but I'd be interested if it has application to chips.

For me I built it all myself. I first started with my own website (rubescasinochips.com) where I could put my own pictures on so I had an easy reference to visually see what I had or needed.

The only drawback was I had nothing that could be passed down if something happened to me so I built my own access database that does the rest. I know a lot of collectors that use the chipguide also. I am just picky on what I wanted the data to do.

I'm using image management software for inventory management.

I like open source software.

If you are interested in chip photos, see the post below:

You just need to be a member of the CCA, it's like $35 a year I think. The HUGE advantage is that all of the chips are pictured and organized. You just need to click one button next to the chip to mark it in your collection.

You can also mark chips you want and chips you have to trade. Look a this video (play it 2x speed) for instructions:

I agree. I built my own website years ago when this was not an option so I stopped buying the same chips I already had. I still have the website but I also use this feature for other projects that I am working on. The nice thing is you can bring it up easily on my phone so at the convention I can just open it up and see if I have it. As you mentioned you can share with other members.
