So I cleaned my Sahara coin in center Bud Jones chips, but most of the $1s have a dark stain like thing right in the middle of the coin.

Anyone have any recommendations about how to remove that? The higher denoms don't have it. I was thinking that maybe coin collectors or others might have tricks (chemical?) for making coins shine again, and removing spots like this.

What should I try?

Thanks!!

I'm no expert, but I'd suggest an automotive polishing compound with lint-free cloth. Brasso works well on chips with brass coin centers.

Maybe try Barkeepers Friend powdered cleaner, add a little water to create a paste or slurry, then apply and let sit on metal.
