Does there exist, or has there ever existed, a database of poker chips? I'm thinking something that you could search for color, edge spots, etc. It would also be cool to see a big list of them with sortable fields.
You guys that have been learning about this stuff for years have such an advantage when it comes to the piecemeal building of usable sets. You don't have to do a bunch of google searches to get an idea about what chip X might stand in for some other chip Y in terms of value or color or what have-you.
It could also serve to preserve historical information. For example, I have noticed a huge number of chip designs from (former) WA casinos. It would be really cool to see a list of them via their chips, maybe with some fascinating historical tidbits.
