Hi - I plan on playing a range of 25/50, 50/1, 1/2 in the future and hoping to buy a chip set that will cover all of those cases. I've seen the recommendation to support up to 10 people and up to 200 BB buy ins.

I reviewed another thread with many suggestions but wanted to confirm if the below breakdown sounds good. Thanks!
  • 125 x 25c
  • 250 x $1
  • 250 x $5 (could do less)
  • 100 x $25
  • 25 x $100
Totals 750 chips and $9625

100/200/200/80/20 is 600 chips and very playable from 25c/50c through 1/2. You really don't need more than 100 of your smallest denom chip, unless maybe you are playing pure 25c/25c.

I'd be most inclined to add racks of $5s from there, as they are in play for all of those stakes and mostly a workhorse chip.

100/200/400/80/20 is a bank of $6,225 which covers a full 3x $200 buy ins per player at a full table of $1/2.

To optimize the bank and usage of chips, I get all the lowest denom chips out first (25c, $1, $5 in this case), with rebuys and add-ons handled by bigger denoms ($25, $100) after. Players make change at the table. You can also play with racks and racks of $1s and $5s if that's your jam.
