Heard the unfortunate news that he passed away today. He was only 43!

Of course he’s most known for playing the Black Panther in the MCU, but he also portrayed legends James Brown and Jackie Robinson on film. Ironic that he passed on Jackie’s birthday.

Always super surprised he wasn't cast more often in mainstream films. 42 was a fantastic film, and his range was incredible. Thought he was impressive in pretty much every role he did, always drew illicit emotion from me at least.

Can only hope that the time he had with his family was well spent, and that they take solace in knowing early enough that they were able to purposefully forge memories over the last couple of years.
