I love tables as much as I love chips, and for 15 years I've been drooling to get mine.

The dream finally came true this week :)

The table was 100% custom made by the best poker table craftsman you'll ever meet: Pascal Jarque.
Please visit his website for awesome designs: http://tables-de-poker.fr/
Information is in French but take a look at the lovely pictures.
Shipping will probably be painful, but if you're ever willing to have one made for yourself, I'll be more than happy to help you translate or provide you with any information you'll need.

Pascal and I discussed every detail of it, and here comes…
my tripod-feet,
gold-rimmed,
oak-finished,
ellipse-shaped,
The one and only... Pirate Circle Poker Table.

And now say hi to my cat ;)

"Hic sunt dracones" is latin for "Here be dragons".
This sentence was written on the ancient marine maps to indicate unknown areas, where dangers might arise. A little sea dragon was drawn on the map. Same on my table: a small "dragonara" can be found at sea, just one seat left of the dealer's place, where the unknown begins... (yes, position matters ;))

Meet the dragon :)

A final word to say that those waves' design was more than inspired by my favorite music record artwork, from a darkjazz band called "The Pirate Ship Quintet". Cool name huh?
It's very dark but beautiful music. You can listen to two of their pieces for free on their wonderful label's website, Denovali. The visual artists are Lucy Joy and Jona Sturgess, kuddos to them.

The table is gorgeous!

Do you run into any issues with players having leg room because of the tables base?

this i absolutely do not doubt. that is far and away the most beautiful table i have ever seen. huge kudos.

I love the detail, the elegance, the subtlety - and I love the wonderful thematic elements.

Brilliant.

Also, it contrasts nicely against the white fortepiano. ;)

That was my only fear at the designing stage, but it turned out ok.
Only two seats are a bit at a disadvantage, but it is easy for those players to get their legs over the table's leg.
In the end it's quite the same as a regular table where you can also hurt on the legs :)

The tripod feet look cool and give a great cantilever effect, but they also evoke a ship's beams below decks, and a plank. It's really wonderful.

The only problem - now you need chairs worthy of the table!

Exactly! I had in mind a "table / boat".
And unfortunately for me you're also right about the chairs :) That will be very, very difficult since the table is the dining table. Must fit with the living room, the daily needs, the lady's tastes (and the budget also ;) ). For now I'll have to settle with quite classic chairs. I'll take more care of the chairs when (if) I'll have a large house and a dedicated poker room.

Fantastic table! Love all of it, right down to the Latin and dragon detail on the playing surface. Tasty!

Wow, very cool table! Love all the details on that felt. Why have a betting line when you can have betting waves!?

But "cover card" is always correct in poker, and "cut card" is only correct in things like blackjack or baccarat. ;)

don't mean to derail this thread about the most amazing table of all time, but how is it wrong to call it a cut card in poker when people use it to...cut the cards?

He's got a whole thread somewhere else all about this. His logic is that you don't need to use the card to cut the deck like you do in a shoe. You can just take a random stack from the deck and place it next to the portion you started with, hence cutting the deck. Usually people place that portion onto the card, which is used to cover the bottom card from exposure to players. Because you use that when you cut the cards people often call it a cut card. It's just his thing from working in a casino, most of the population won't care what you call it and I think most vendors even call it a cut card. Not taking a shot at you Mental just stating your view if I remember it correctly.

Butler you should appreciate the contextual objection to the generic term.

that "logic" is pedantic and i assume was put forward only for the purpose of being annoying (not you, Forty4, as i recognize you're only the bearer of the poor logic, not its originator). but i won't further derail this thread and i won't go search for a thread which i assume is filled with people saying "are you fucking kidding me?"

A most beautiful table. The only improvement I can envision is the addition of mounds of those Aviation Club poker chips on top (pr0n when you get a chance, please).

How heavy is it? This pic gives the impression that it could be easily toppled from the ends, like a see-saw:

Really modernistic and unconventional. It is so very obvious that you poured your heart and soul into this table from its overall shape and form to the little minute details. Bravo.

Wonderful table! What is the cloth?
It's a synthetic material covered with a treatment for an optimal glide.

Yeah I'll pr0n those ACF chips don't worry, but not before a few days. I still gotta clean some of them.

I think the table + dining top is about 80 kg (dont know the american units).
I'm not sure I understand your last sentence, but there is a slight vibration on the two-feet side if you push hard on it. But it's not a problem.

Well that narrows it down. Anyway, enjoy...

Ok I desserve it ;)
But it's truly hard to explain, even in French.
Micro-fiber + a special treatment but it's kinda industrial secret.
That's a video showing the glide. I'll post one of my own one of these days.

On a different subject: Jarque confirmed me that he's already worked for American customers, if any of you guys are wondering.
