I see a lot of poker listing for “catch and release”. What does that mean when selling poker chips? Thanks. Love the forum and have spent waaaay too much.

It means purchased but didn’t use or hardly used, I believe.

I've also come to assume that it generally means re-sold at the original purchase price, but that could be an incorrect assumption on my part.

You guys are correct, bought with intent to use... but changed direction or found something else to work on so selling at the same price they paid for them, typically in a short window of time.

This is typically a symptom of the "sickness".

EDIT : For me, especially, since I've purchased my share of racks with absolutely no intention to use. Just bought them because a picture made me want them. Then when I get them, I realize I need to sell them.
