Let's say that one of us wins the lottery 6 times in a row and as one of our indulgences decides to hire the best to make a film about the evolution and devolution of the custom clay chip market from approximately 2005 through 2015.

In the beginning, everyone will be riding high: T.R. King is still producing on the Scrown mold; ASM is popping out some sweet vintage looking shit; BCC has a color palette like no other but Paulson themselves. It will be mostly smooth sailing and therefore a bunch of montages of the developments in the industry and will even highlight a few of the best custom sets from each era (provided the right chippers sign releases).

But then gradually things will deteriorate. The chinks in BCC's armor will begin to show; Dennis will decide to dissolve TRK; finally ASM will be sold, first we think to a fellow chipper who wants to take things into the future by a move to Vegas. Then a new figure emerges from the darkness. A questionable figure. A red figure. But in spite of the crumbling empire, yet another new figure emerges. A brighter figure. A British figure. And he gets the band back together for a tour to top all those that came before.

Anyway, we'll get the Coen brothers to write the script and Bennett Miller to direct, but who will star in this beautiful disaster? My picks below. Yours? I'm sure some folks will have good inclusions for characters I didn't even put below...

THE MAIN CAST

Jim Blanchard (ASM) (yes, he will need aging makeup, but there's really no other choice):

I think there's gotta be room for Paul Giamatti. He could probably play all the characters ala Tom Hardy.

I've always been curios what became of Sallie.

Jamie needs to be way more physically imposing. Also, he needs to have a large arm-sized wrench in every single scene. It should provide comedic relief to an other true-life, serious drama. He goes to the bathroom, he wields the wrench. Best man at his brother's wedding, with a wrench.

Giamatti can play the strip mall lawyer Red goes to when he gets spooked that he's going to get sued for pilfering out ASM's stock of chips and cases before he dumps the company.

I also tried to find a place for Tom Hardy, but figured maybe someone else could pick up the mantle and throw in a new secondary character he'd be good to play.

Honestly my first thought was Dobber from Coach, but wanted scarier so went Sawyer from Lost. Open ears, though. I've still got 6 lottery wins to go before the decisions become final.

This shit is hilarious. Steve Buscemi was my first thought for Red. :) [end threadcrap]

Honestly I'm only dead seat on:

Nick Offerman as Jim
Donal Logue as Mike Endy
Bill Paxton as Greg
Danny McBride as Joe

Clive Owen as David is close to a lock, but I could be swayed.

Danny McBride for Joe is inspired

That's what got me on this thread honestly. I saw that picture of Donal Logue and thought, "This is exactly how I always pictured Mike Endy." Then was watching Eastbound and Down and all of a sudden thought of Joe and I was off to the races.
