I will be in AC next week on a big family trip and curious about which casinos for small stakes 1/2-2/4 are best on week nights in particular. Borgata? It has been a really long time since I have been there. I used to be there every weekend in college and years after but then fell into a long hiatus from poker for no particular reason. Lots of memories there. I believe the Taj became the Hard Rock? But I assume the completely demoed the old interior so any remnants of the old Taj room are gone?

Anything else interesting there these days in the daytime, for or otherwise?

Thanks, E

Full disclosure, I haven't been to AC since COVID started, but imho Borgata is the best place to go. Nicely appointed and well run poker room. Beautiful property overall. Really no reason to leave, lol. Great spa, fantastic restaurant choices, wonderful pools and fitness center, etc. etc. One non-Borgata recommendation if you like seafood is Dock's Oyster House. AC institution, incredible history, great food and from what I hear, a locals fav.

Thanks! That was impression I got. I was actually at Borgata opening week way back when like 20 years ago and played a few times there but that was around when I fell out of poker.

There are only three poker rooms open in AC right now:
1) Borgata
2) Harrah's
3) Tropicana

I've played at all three, but only Harrah's post COVID. Harrah's was nice; smaller room that runs a 1/2 and a 1/3 game, but they do stop playing at some point on weekdays (I think sometime between 12-2 am).

Borgata is definitely the nicest, will have the most tables and the most action. Believe they only have a 1/3 game.

Tropicana is fine. A little run down and not sure how many table they'll have going on a weeknight. Unless you're in that area, I would avoid and go to one of the other two.

Not too much advice on what else to do. My family likes Margate, which is a beach town about 15 min south of AC. Plenty of beaches, mini golf, ice cream shops and other similar 'beach town' type activities, and a little nicer than AC proper.

I was in AC 2 weeks ago. Out there on business. That city took a serious hit from Covid, and it wasn't doing well pre-covid. I would go to Borgata. That would be my place to play.
