So, I'm watching the New SunFly Hybrid GB (39 and 43mm) Interest/Idea Thread - OWP thread with great interest as I'd like to purchase a set of Sunfly hybrids to serve as my travel set. The Mayfair Club design has really caught my eye. I think the New York skyline label is evolving quite nicely as the pre 911/post 911 skyline debate pushes forward. Anyhow, I've always liked using (sealed, brand new) paper playing card decks from real casinos, focusing on Paulson decks mostly. I'm kinda old school that way. The Mayfair Club thread had me digging out a case of sealed, red/blue Paulson decks from a place called 'Casino New York' that I picked up on eBay about 10 years ago:

These would kind of fit into the theme of the Mayfair Club set should I bite on those. A perfect excuse to get these cards in play. I'm curious, does anybody have any information on 'Casino New York?' Did it ever open? If so, years of operation? Where was it exactly located? Are there any 'Casino New York' chips out there in the wild? Playable sets? Also, regarding the rather crudely designed skyline logo on these cards, is it actually the Manhatten skyline? I'm guessing no but not sure. To me it looks more like Jersey City or something....lol.

It reminds me of the skyline used on the intro of the old TV show Frasier.

Was that Seattle, maybe?

I've probably had a few too many sips of Jameson, and I don't know enough about the subject matter, but could these be cards made for the PNY or PCNY or whatever we call it? That would be pretty cool.

Casino NewYork was a casino that never opened. They applied for a trademark back in 2001 and it was registered in late 2002 but the ship never opened.

Are people thinking of the " President Casino New Yorker " , doubt "Casino New York" had anything to do with that.. unless there was another ship that never sailed as well..

Thanks for the input. So, 'Casino New York' never opened. If they had an order placed for cards I wonder if they also had chips made. Hmmmmm.
