Casino Fracs (1 Viewer)

Mostly blackjack and baccarat payouts. If you tell people where you're going, they can tell you if and where there are harvestable fracs.
Going to the new casino in Pickering (Toronto ON) that opened up this week. Figured I'd try to harvest a sample set. Fwiw I haven't been yet and have zero clue if they even have fracs. So would the fracs be the 2:1 payout on $1 blackjack?

This is schrodinger's frac, right? Currently the chips both do and do not exist. But the moment you go into that casino and discover that they don't, you have essentially ruined it for everybody else. Don't do it!!!

Most of the Indian Gaming Pact casinos in Oklahoma use a .50 ante for every hand of table games. It has to do with building a player pool that you get paid from, not the tribe or casino paying you. So it’s a way for them to claim it’s players playing against other players, not the house.

Please post the chip lineup. I'm interested in seeing them.

I'm assuming no poker there also, correct?

This. At the Rivers near me, they've got some fantastic quarters (@HaRDHouSeiNC want to show off?), but they're only in Pai Gow and pretty slow to harvest. They won't just give you a stack no matter how sweetly you ask.
Yah Rivers are nice just very light feel but I love the look

No clue about poker. The have poker at Fallsview, so they might have it here, but I doubt it. I'll definitely post the lineup though

It depends a little on what you you are after, but as a general rule it has been quite difficult to get fractionals in any sort of quantity for at least 30+ years. I am not saying it has never happened but it is difficult at best. Most (Not All) casino's no longer use fractionals and the ones that do are well aware that it costs them more than what the face value is to buy the chips so they are wary of folks like us.

It is my opinion that it just isn't worth the time or effort to try and harvest fractionals. btw, I have had this same opinion for the last 30 yrs and I am confident that I will never change my opinion about this for the remainder of my days.

A far better way to get fractionals in quantity (again in my opinion) is to go harvest a rack or 2 of $1 chips that you like or even pay someone to harvest them for you and then murder them. Pay Chris @Gear to make some labels that mostly match your set. This way you are going to get a better match and save yourself a lot headache....

But then you have a chip with a sticker on it vs a real casino chip. Not the same thing at all.

Tell that to this online poker friend, as he makes his way through airport security.

True, but you then you also have a real casino chip that took a lot of effort to get that doesn't match your set which isn't the same as having a fractional that actually does match your set. Positives and negatives of both. Choose your poison, neither one is perfect.

I did say it was difficult, not impossible....
I stand by my opinion

btw,
it is possible for both of us to have a different opinion and that is ok by me

Just to clarify, I wasn't intending to harvest a rack or a barrel or anything, more so just a sample set, or maybe a set to keep and a set to offer up in a giveaway. Obviously $1s and $5s and $25s aren't hard to get, and you can get snappers if you play blackjack for a while, just wasn't sure how to figure out of the casino even had fracs, or what tables they'd be at.

Hey I was just waiting for an excuse to post that picture. I happen to agree with you (except the part about relabeling, but that’s just my own insanity creeping out.)

Just because it takes a lot of effort doesn't make it equivalent. I can spend thousands converting my Toyota to a Porsche, it still ain't a Porsche.

It's just not the same - an unaltered chip is >>>>>> than a chip with a sticker on it.

I understand the reasoning behind labelling and everyone is free to do whatever they want, but it isn't the same and putting a sticker on a chip does NOT make it a "real" chip.

It should be mandatory that labelled chips are tagged as such - especially in the classifieds, so everyone knows exactly what they are looking at.

ahh, I get it now..
I guess I was coming at it from the perspective of getting fractionals for a set which is sort of what those visiting this site tend to gravitate towards...

Stop giving me ideas...although now that you mention it, I definitely need another set.

I get what you are saying, but at the same time not everyone has to have the same opinion....
For me none of the chips that any of us have, that we put into play, are really collectable anyway. If you have a playable set that you like then that is about all that matters. They are all available by the thousands, no one in the singles collecting community gives a crap about any of them and most of them are not even in mint condition. With all of that said ,at least for me, your statement of "an unaltered chip is >>>>>> than a chip with a sticker on it" is not always right. I don't buy it....

Let me give an example:
all of the various HSI < $5 chips have a VERY unconventional size inlay on them. They were available by the thousands at a very affordable price for a very long time and in my opinion every single one of them looks completely wrong. I admit that it is my opinion but once again in my opinion a 7/8 inlay on a RHC mold that was made for 1 1/8" inlay looks very strange. Not only does it look wrong on the individual chips, but it also does not match the rest of the set where they got it right by putting a 1 1/8" inlay into a space that was made for that inlay. For me, I would take just about any murdered RHC chip with a label on it for my set of HSI fractional, $1's or even $2.50's and in this type of situation and for me your statement is not at all right.

I agree 100% that buyers and sellers should both be made aware of what is being bought/Sold.

Totally agree re: 7/8” inlay on a chip made for a 1 1/8” inlay. The person behind it is likely the same clown that puts a decimal in front of the fifty cent stamp/inlay on the fracs (half a cent vs half a dollar). I wouldn’t buy either (regardless of the price) because I don’t like the look of it.

While I initially wasn’t a big fan, I decided to embrace the 7/8” inlay and made my own fracs, with *gasp* labels. :ROFLMAO:

I also agree a labelled chip should always be described as such in classifieds.

In your case you were smart enough to use the 7/8" label on a mold that was intended to have a 7/8" inlay so it still looks good. I much prefer the non matching mold (THC) with the correct size labels, like you have, to the originals.

Your look nice! and in my opinion >>>> than the originals

I've also labelled some chips...because as far as I know there aren't any Roadhouse 25Ks, and I need some to color up my 2 table T20K tourney set

How many did he get? I got 140. Will sell as soon as my CPC fracs come in (waiting on jockey run)
No idea, he just sent that on a group text; I don’t really talk to the guy. But my guess is that they’re heading to another member here, so we probably haven’t seen the last of them.
