Can anyone give me info on what the best denomination breakdown would be for a 500 & 1000 piece cash game chipset respectively.

You really don’t NEED any more than that... unless two tables or plans for deeper buyins.

I would suggest playing 10c/20c blinds since you would end up having a stack of about 100 big blinds which in my personal experience is the absolute minimum for a good cash game.

The fact that in England you have 20p coins instead of the American 25c coins helps too!

For 6 players:
6x20= 120x 10p
6x16= 96x 50p
6x10= 60x 1£
6x1= 6x 5£

Total 25£

Round up to 180+160+120+40 chips for a safe option which allows for 8 players and rebuys.

Those are awefully big blinds for such a small buyin... 12.5 big blinds. Like @Pierna stated, 100 bigs is a good starting stack. With those blinds, I’d want to have 200£ buy ins.

If you're saying you're playing 1/2 holdem with 20 buy-ins, you're doing it wrong. Everybody starts with 10 big blinds? That's very very bad poker.

I’d reduce the number of 10p to 100 total... or you could play 20p/20p using a 20p chip and eliminate the 50p.
