Hey Guys!

Looking at placing my first order for a custom set.

Would be looking to purchase 1000 chips. Looking for a breakdown to provide me the following

  • Coverage for both a low stakes game. .50c / $1 (Fun home game with non poker friends)
  • Coverage for a higher stakes 1/3 2/5. Start stack would be 100BB moving to 200BB for rebuys later in the night
  • If easy enough to achieve the option to have the set provide enough coverage to expand to a second table in the future if and when required (Nice to have)
Open to adjusting from the 1000 chip starting point if required.

Below is an approximate breakdown I have put together but would love some feedback from the experts here!

To cover what you are looking for

.25x160
1x200
5x300
25x200
100x100
500x20
(940 chips with options for the last 20)

(if in units of 25)
.25x175
1x200
5x300
25x200
100x100
500x25
(1000 chips)

If you plan to have two tables of .50/1 or .25/.50 then you need at least 80 quarters per table so each player can get 2 dollars worth at the beginning of the game. If you will not be having many 2/5 games you could omit ordering 500's entirely now. If 2/5 will be a rarity, you can always order a plaque/chip add on later, also many cases hold more than 500/650/1000 for example a 1000 chip birdcage can often store 1200 chips and 1000 chip case 1100 chips. Either way I would personally order this breakdown of 1000..

.25x 160
1x 200
5x 360
25x 240
100x40

with 1100 chips add 60-80x100's and 20x500's if 1200 chips add 120x100's, 60x 500's and 20x 1000's which will allow for a single table sit and go tourney as well, while reserving cash chips for a .25/.50 to 1/2 game without playing them in the tourney.

I love flexibility of non cash value chips and usually makes for a more efficient chips set overall than trying to cover a wide range of denominations.
