First off let me start by saying this is NOT a problem with Chanman's cloths.

For multiple reasons I have been using Modiano Platinum Acetate cards for years. Several decks I have will not slide at all on my Chanman cloths. I'm talking they stop like they are on Velro. The same decks that won't slide on one table won't slide on the other table with Chanman cloth as well. I can swap the decks around and some will slide like an air hockey table. New vs Old doesn't seem to matter.
The cards that won't slide on Chans cloth will fly great on my table with Suited Speed Cloth, which is probably why I have never noticed this before. Prior to the last 6 months I had only used SSC.

Has anyone else experienced this?

So..... I know it is the cards so where do I go from here?
Plastic is the only option
Prefer Poker size, regular Index
I don't like KEM's - too flimsy for me
Used to use Copag's, they seem to wear the color off way faster than the others.

I really like the Modiano platinum cards also....... Probably my second favorite is gemaco casino cards.......bicycle prestige are nice also......

I really like the GEMACO SuperFlex. (Jumbo Bridge size) I stocked up on some a while back. Cardwell might still have them.

The frustrating part is I have about 8 decks of spares from 1 card getting ripped or creased. No more wasting a whole deck when a single card goes bad, I can just go grab one from all the spares of the same decks.
It looks like with the luck of the draw these Modiano's I could get 2 decks that slide great and then the next two don't move at all, which is what I am trying to avoid by starting over with something else.
Looks like i'll just have to take some of these suggestions and try them out.

If you can spare, experiment with some of the sticking cards .., Wash then in case of some sort of residue, perhaps a light sweep with a magic eraser to see if that helps .......
Also, olive oil and garlic works wonders on vegetables ...

Are the cards bowed? That'll prevent a cushion of air underneath, and the corners that face down will drag more across the surface.

Nope, Some random brand new decks and some of the existing decks. I have the problem with good used and brand new out of the wrapper. Some glide some don't. I think the new ones actually feel a litter "rougher" i may take a card or two and try to clean them or something to smooth them up.

To test this theory (and just for grins), try dealing those non-gliding decks upside-down (face-up). It may be a function of shape, or maybe of surface friction. If they do glide well upside-down, then try one of your good decks upside-down -- it should be 'sticky'.

Yeah that's what I did with my own deck of PA's a while back. Face down, they skipped and juddered across the table. Face up, they were like oiled ball bearings on ice.

Interesting test.
Brand new Modiano's fresh out of the wrapper. Face down, like dealing against velcro. Face Up, like an air hockey table.
Both new decks out of this box worked this way on 2 different tables with Chan's cloth.

I tried both decks on my table with SSC with the same results. The interesting thing on the SSC is you could actually hear the friction/drag when they were dealt face down. Face up the slid much better and you could hear no friction/drag.

Next up, older decks that slide great. (still in great shape, but not new out of the wrapper)
The exact opposite from above!
Face down, slide great. Face up, i can't reach the other end of the table no matter what.
Same result on SSC, even down to hearing more friction face up vs face down.

So... Is there any such thing as the cards being printed on the wrong sides???

Unfortunately the only thing my results get me is to tell me all the new decks I have in stock are useless.

Not an expert, but sounds like wrong side printing to me.

UPDATE;
Ordered and just received some Bicycle Prestige cards, nice cards. They are a little sturdier than the KEM's, which i like.
So...... slide test - they slide just fine face down but hit the breaks face up. The funny thing is though on the SSC you don't really notice the difference face up or down. They seem to slide less smooth than the Chan cloth but slide about the same up or down.

I'm thinking i may have just got some bad Modiano's - several of them!
