Cards for home games? (2 Viewers)

There’s a lot of resources here on this subject. I would look the Redneck Database, too.

Copags only thus far. A few sets of bridge size and a few sets of poker size as well. Most of my home game players prefer the poker size but bridge is growing on me (and I have big hands)

I recently got Desjgn poker size jumbo setup and really really like them. We had been playing with either Copag or Kem setups for a while and I liked the Desjgn cards better right away.

i use only faded spades now, and i have used every kind, faded spades are the best!
I think you might be in the minority on that one. I’ve never even tried them, because I’ve read enough reviews of people saying they’re very stiff cards, for me to know I don’t need to try them, since I don’t like stiff cards.

@svn12345 cards are just like chips - there are lots of differences, so you need to find out which characteristics you like best. The only thing I’d say for sure is that you want plastic cards - they’re durable and they don’t get marked up easily, which is why that’s all casinos will use for poker.
Here’s a pretty comprehensive guide for what’s out there, and how they’re different:

Mostly used Copags but had gotten some Fournier sets (2826 & '12 WSOP Sets). Copags are easier to shuffle and gather after a hand, but they do wear faster. Fourniers are thicker and don't wear as fast but are a bit difficult compared to Copags for gathering cards for shuffling with their sharper edges.

Desjgns are growing on me playing in another home game.

I have to agree with you. Like @upNdown, I didn’t buy any because I heard so many bad things about them, but I recently but the bullet and got a setup to try out. I was pleasantly surprised, and I found that I really like them. I’m still a KEM and Desjgn guy, but I will definitely be putting the Faded Spades into play. They are a bit stiff, but not near as bad as what I anticipated based on so many reviews.

I rotate btween Fournier, Dal Negro, Cartamundi BE casini poker, KEM.
Mostly poker size, both regular and jumbo index depending on game and friends' taste

I've found Modianos (my fav) and even Piatniks easy to find in Aus at game stores, im sure its a similiar situation in NZ.
KEMs and Copags will be stoked by poker stores but seem to be around $25-30 a deck

I use Modianos. Both Platinum and Texas Holdem. It seems like there a tons more options out there. The database posted above is really cool, I just went through it
