A couple of years ago the wife and I went to the Nebraska/Oregon football game in Eugene. It was our first time taking in the Oregon coast and we knew we wanted to go back for more.
We are thinking of making a road trip next month taking Hwy 1/101 from San Francisco to Portland.
We have no real time restrictions but were thinking about 5-7 days?

What do I need to know?
How long can I really expect to travel each day? We don't want to get on an interstate and drive 65mph for hours, we want the scenic route stopping wherever for however long we want.
What do I need to make sure we see? Redwood National Park is on the list.
What else???

Not a must see per se but Mt Tamalpais and Muir Woods are beautiful and are great for hiking if that’s your thing. Mt. Tam also has great views of the Pacific depending on which trails you take.

For anything SF related, ask away :)

Sausalito is also worth driving through on your way towards Hwy 1. Quaint, gorgeous little town with amazing views of the city, Alcatraz, Angel Island, and the bay
