I have started putting together a THC relabel tournament set.
I like the idea of "Cali Colors".

25= Purple
100=White
500=?
1000=?
5000=?

What are everyone else's thoughts.
Several different sets exist for Cash Sets in Cali Colors but I don't really see them
for a Tournament set.

I like=
Purple
White
Grey
Pink/Peach
Red

That said Blue would help keep my costs down.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

I'm working on the same thing.

I love an orange chip so my vote is to add that. Brown and yellow are always other Cali color choices and easier to find than others.

This is what I have so far. Trying to find a white or a purple for the T5000.

The problem with yellow is that is a $5 chip in Cali colors.
Is there any consensus of “standards” for a Cali tournament set?
I think it is safe to say that the “norm” is
Green
Black
Purple
Yellow
Etc..

Funny enough, I was contemplating the same thing, too. I'll probably have some interesting leftover THC solids from my roulette collections. Mine won't have edgespots.
I was thinking
25 - Lilac/Purple
100 - White
500 - Brown
1000 - Blue or Grey
5000 - Red

I don't know if there are standard Cali tourney colors? So I just decided to use the Cali colors I liked and that were available and looked good together. I'd say whatever you like is the right decision.

I thought Cali 500 was pink, but might be wrong , above that unknown

I don't think there's any real uniform Cali colors for both fracs and >$100 denoms.

Crystal Park has:
$500 gray
$1000 pink
$5000 dark red?

Bad color choices if you ask me, but duh. The edge spots really need to do heavy lifting here to not make a white $100 look too similar to a gray $500 and a pink $1000 to a red $5000.

I agree with you!
I run a Crystal Park cash set and agree that the grey is too close to white and the pink is too close to magenta. The CP chips sized up to differentiate between denominations but I have no interest in going that route.

I am leaning this direction:
Purple
White
Blue(light)
Yellow(canary)
Radiant red(pinkish)
I have a few possibilities at each color for THC chips. Edgespots will be difficult to get in a true “progression” but will all be different.
Keep the feedback coming.
Feel free to add pics of possible THC chip candidates. I am looking st chips that can be had in great shape. “Buttery” chips will be a different project for me.
Thank you in advance for contributing ideas and opinions. They are most welcome.
Cheers,
Joe

Looking at a few Cali sets with higher denoms might provide some color inspiration -- Vineyards, Crystal Parks, Outpost Casino, Commerce Casino, Bicycle, maybe even the two Mardi Gras home sets produced by BCC.

Dug through photo albums of the WPT L.A. Classic at the Commerce Casino and made a mockup.
T25-T100k. The real T25k is actually 4TA18 but given the spots of literally every other chip from the set I adjusted it.

A few random thoughts. Nothing really concrete, just my $.02:

I have been brainwashed to associate purple with a 500 chip, so that is where I would start if working with the color preferences you stated in OP.

Gray is pretty versatile. I have seen gray chips used for 25, 100, 1000, and 5000.

White is the same way. It could pretty much be any of the other values (25/100/1000/5000) with the right combination of other color assignments.

I am having more trouble placing the red and pink/peach, not knowing which shades of those respective colors would be used. I tend to avoid using more than one red/pink/orange chip in a set, unless they are easily distinguishable or far enough apart in value that they are not both in play together all the time.

This is the nearest mock-up duplicate I can make.

Good call on the DG Arc Yellow for the T100.

I disagree on the DG Tiger and Yellow for the T5k though. Might look close on screen, but when looking at the color samples in person, DG Peach and Canary really are the closer matches. Tiger goes way too much into red and Yellow is too muddy/dark.

On T1k, the original's base is more like red-brown. CPC's reds are too red and clash with the T25k while the browns have zero red in them. Best alternate was Pink; not quite as dark and as brown, but at least has some red. Retro Lavender is a different hue.
