As several of you know, I got on the Rat Rod train after being inspired by @FDLmold and @louBdub with the amazing sets they began putting together. Due to that inspiration, I have gone on a quest over the past 6 months to empty my wallet and build a set of my own. I probably should have posted this thread a while ago and might have collected many of these chips quicker by doing so, but I didn't want to post pics of dirty chips and I finally got around to washing them.
With a lot help from @ReallyGoodUsername , @JWC , and several others of you who made some great singles available, my set is almost "done" (it will never be done). Still finishing a 3rd rack of whites, 3rd of blues, and some yellow fracs.
My set is put together a lot "looser" than the sets that @FDLmold and @louBdub are building which makes it no where as nice looking as Lou's and not even close to as cool as FDL's, but it serves my tastes and gives me a pure Rat Rod vibe. It's all about giving old parts a new life.
My set consists of any chip I think is cool. I have inlays, hot stamps, and CIC chips. I have many different molds, with most being older but a few newer. Most of the chips are casinos from wherever, but there are also illegal card room chips, some tributes, and even some whorehouse chips. The goal was to give my friends something cool to look at and inspect constantly while playing. Except for the .25 fracs, none of the other chips are duplicates and every chips of whatever color/denom is individual.
The yellows are all .25 chips
I couldn't decide between white/gray or blue 1s, so I made a set of each that can be swapped out from time to time.
The reds are $5
The greens are $25
And the blacks are $100
This set will be used for my friend/neighborhood game where we play .25/.50. With the amount invested in this set, I will probably only use it on nights when we have 1 table as even though they are all friends, I still want the chips in sight.
Excuse the crappy pics as they are from a cell phone on a foldout table in the garage. I'll put some splash pot pics on felt in the future. The far left rack of yellows will probably he separated due to color and size, and I am still working on finishing a 2nd rack of the yellows and probably a 3rd.
