This year on July 18 (Saturday) I invite any fellow PCFers to join us for some good food and good poker down in the good ol' Southwest. The initial plan is to do lunch around 12 and then start a deep-stack tournament at 1. Cash game(s) to follow. Please post in this thread if you're at all interested! Why should the folks in MA/NH have all the fun??

I only ask that you bring one thing: deodorant. Seriously. Don't make the fellow sitting next to you suffer. It'll be well into the 110 degree range.

I hope that some of you will come out!

Looking at you AlbinoDragon, byline, Slisk, and Psypher!

Sounds like a blast. If I win the lotto and make it to the wsop main event I'll be there :) it's only 4 days after the main event finishes. Also it'll be very handy to have a host that can make a new table at anytime if you get to many people.

James has a great plan and I thank him for offering to host. Don't miss this. We will have outstanding food, table(s), chips, and I'll be bringing some special prizes (chipes) for the tournament runner ups (I plan on winning). :)

Love it James!!! It's great you're putting the meet-up together...

I for one will do my best to be there... The issue I have is that I'll be in Vegas for the wsop but don't have the dates yet as I'm trying to coordinate with a couple of friends... But I might try and triangulate LAS/PHX/DTW... I'm definitely a tentative! ;)

That would be awesome!

Also, a fellow member pointed out that the 18th is the weekend before the Windy City Blowout. I hope this isn't construed as stepping on anyone's toes. I was unaware of that meet-up date and the 18th was the available date for the other member who is helping me coordinate this event.

I'll be at Jeff's the following week for sure... For some, two meet-ups in two weeks might be tough... I'm driving to the WCB since it's just a few hours away, so no big deal for me... My issue is more regarding the trip to Vegas, most likely the week preceding your event...

We've got five months to figure it all out, so don't worry about it just yet. However and again, it would be GREAT if you came!

Wow, you're really getting around you chipslut.

sounds like a blast. Just don't have the jack to travel to AZ.

Hope you get a good showing (I love Phoenix btw)

I suppose I might be drawn into the East Valley for a poker gig as long as it's being held indoors! We live in a furnace...I don't do outside events in the summer.

Great people, awesome chips, good food, road trips and POKAH! What's NOT to like?

I'll give you three points. For the whole five the correct response was, "chipslut? Bitch please, I'm a chip whore...I get PAID!"

OK, so perhaps there is some discussion on the dates. Did not even consider that people will come from out of state. That's cool and presents an opportunity here. My commute to this game will take about 4 days. One 7 hour red eye to get to Amsterdam (full 8 hour layover to go get a toastie and a beer :)) then another 8 to DFW, then another 4 to PHX. After a 3 day jet lag coma, I'll be at the table on the 18th. It would be very cool if we were able to fill a whole table with members.

The nest weekend I'm a chip mule in Vegas. Won't be back in PHX until Aug. 12 or so.

Get yourself here! You Aussies always have the best manners at the table. Just look at Joe Hachem.
Wait. Isn't Tony G. Australian? And Jeff Lisandro, while seemingly mild mannered most of the time, was this closing to ripping Prahlad Friedman a new one at the 2006 ME (arguably defensable IMHO). :)

Tony G wasn't born in Australia so we get to pass on him. Jeff is half Italian... :)

WSOP? wow......you must be a high roller :) That's why you've earned the nickname "Shark".

Unfortunately the only way I play in the WSOP is if someone staked me. I think you have to be "good" to get staked

Dude! High-roller? U kidding me? Shark? Hahahaha... More like sardine...

I won't be playing the main event, I'll pick smaller buy-in events... It's just an yearly thing I do with a couple of friends... Good times in Vegas during the wsop...

I played the main event in 2010! Hell of a bucket list item and I recommend it to everyone here even if you have to make a very long term plan on how you will get there.

I'll take back my previous comments James! Your event is in "July" not June... My bad... I'd be in Vegas only in June... Count me in...

I'd like to talk to you more in detail about this trip to the WSOP. What events, hotels, ect....try to figure out a budget. Its unlikely I could participate (damn non poker playing wife, damn is she hot...........anyways) but it would be nice to day dream about it, lol.

Let's DO IT (while playing some poker of course)! There's also a meet-up close to Chicago in July if you want drive together for some poker and chipes!!

Hmm if Chandler is close to where you are at... I might be able get a free ride there...

I'll be coming from either Mesa near the 101 or Apache Junction. If you need a ride it is possible to pick you up from Chandler. I think James is in Scottsdale.

Thx slisk250. I need to look at a map and see if I can get a free flight to Chandler... and convince my wife :)

I think the only planes landing in Chandler are crop dusters and private planes landing at Stellar air park. Maybe Redbelly can hook you up with a cargo seat and a parachute.

I'm actually out in east Mesa. If someone could give NiceShot a ride that would be phenomenal. Hell, I'll even pitch in for cab fare! I just met Scott (Psypher) a couple of hours ago; he came to pick up his table from my house and was an awesome guy. I'm glad he'll be around for the meet-up!
