Wow! I have great admiration for jockeys, they are very brave and risking their life in every race. I just sit on my backside and punt on them!

I am building a live Treasury set at the moment. Havw you seen the Gold Coast $2.5 chip? They are the matsui mould same as the $1 chips but they’ve used the same colour as the main and the feature colours single coloured chip from a three tone mould.

I am intrigued by that mould, because while the chip design looks very much like the one Matsui created, the Treasury chips have a BG style ring around the decal (Matsui’s version has no ring there at all).

The Star definitely used Matsui at one point. There has been an evolution of sorts with the molds/manufacturer.

Looking at the treasury the $1s are matsui copies and the $2.5 are matsui copies as well (edited)

That $2.50 chip has the same (”copy”) ring around the decal as the $1, it’s just not very visible due to the color choices. The ”copy” chips could be BG, maybe the casino wanted a similar looking design as before? Difficult to say for sure of course.

ah yes you're right. based on my experience playing with them and feel, Im going to say definitely not BG.

The star did have a few BGs back in the day so anything is possible.
