... I WANT TO STAY!

... and I know I get to make that choice.... but it sure would be nice if everyone stayed too.

This is not an attempt to torpedo Greg or CT. What made CT a special place, however, were the members and their ideas all in one place. The fact that everyone (it would appear) survived the sinking of the ship and made it to "the Island" ensures that we are all in one place! We can (and are) getting back to everything we are passionate about!

What I'm AFRAID of is this turning into a God forbidden continuation of LOST! Some begin to try to get off the Island, some want to stay on the Island, some leave then return, etc.

We are all here now... Tommy has made (and is MAINTAINING!) a great site! We have all lived through the rebirth of ASM into CPC and things are better than ever! I personally believe that this PCF is the rebirth of CT... AND ITS A WHOLE LOT BETTER!

Tommy wants us all to stay.

I'm staying... I hope I have LOTS of company!

I don't understand why it has to be either/or. The internet's a big place...there's room for both sites. I visit both, and will continue to do so. But I do prefer this one.

"Neither can live while the other survives" (Harry Potter) -- not sure if this is true for a board like this. I've never been an active member on two boards on the same topic before. No idea. Hope both survive but I get what Redbelly is saying. I'm guessing, like a divorce, many will stay friends with one or the other, while some find a way to stay in contact with both.

It's all about the people really. There's a lot of personalities on here who I would miss if they disappeared.

I'm staying. I'll tell you why:
-There's something very special about being able to communicate with the administrator of this site very openly. It's clear that Tommy cares a great deal about this site.
-No Mojo.
-Everyone is here, and the community is great. The people who were essentially the backbone of CT are here, and they're amazing.
-Everybody, as far as I've seen, has been incredibly helpful to one another and I haven't seen any negativity or unkind comments to others.
-No Mojo.

I do miss Dr. Strange's posts, but hopefully he will come over, and hopefully we can implement some sort of strategy section. I always loved going through hand analysis with other members.

Again, thank you to Tommy for all that you do and for welcoming us with such enthusiasm.

Sorry CT, I still want to be friends.

Seriously, I will go where the action is. I visited CT daily for the last 6 years, and this whole thing is hard. But why pay for membership and classifieds when you don't have to? I think we all stared at that blue screen so long it is tough to leave the familiarity of the site. In the end, I will herd with the masses.

I'm sure I'll take a look at stuff over at CT, but I'm here for the foreseeable future now and don't plan to start any threads over there barring unforeseen circumstances.

Also - and this reason is a very close second to the primary motivator of better administration - I do most of my off-work forum surfing via phone or tablet and the tapatalk interface doesn't cost $200 here and has been more reliable.

I've never been an active member on two boards on the same topic before.

I have. I owned a KLR650 motorcycle for years, and there used to be one main forum dedicated to it. A number of users got frustrated with the way it was administered, and it fragmented into three separate forums a few years ago when it all came to a head. While I'm no longer there often (sold the bike, and now go to other m/c forums for my current ride), all three are still going today with active memberships. And while some users choose to restrict their attention to a single site, many users are members of all three.

It's all about the community, and where you want to spend your time. Tommy runs a great site (always has), and it's getting better with each passing day. There's certainly no reason to leave, and many reasons to stay.

It's a labyrinth of worlds for me. I will also stay where most of my friends and future friends are, but will shuttle between these two worlds via blackrock gem.
CT is where it all started for me, and I will be over there too. But this forum now is so well organized and hosted by Tommy, that I will stick around.

I finally made it to the Island Redbelly. That was one long swim, I wasn't sure witch way to go. Had great time at DCS4 this weekend and I'm with the people. Greg's tring to salvage the ship but looks to be a lil to late.
I find the white screen soothing to my eyes lol... No really I've been looking at that CT blue for like 10 years.

Well, as someone who was only ever on CT for Jim's sales, and who signed up here as soon as I found it, I can say this. Things seem a LOT "easier" on this site, both from a layout standpoint, AND an admin POV. I found that, once I joined up with PCF, the CT site was more of a "just in case" look in to see if I was missing anything. Now that I read that he is not even maintaining things (for whatever reasons), I will not even bother with CT any more. Everything that I need is here, and a LOT of the wonderful folks whose posts I have enjoyed are here now, too.

Life is good.

I could never be bothered to work my way through it all, though . . . I am sure that, in time, the knowledge will migrate as well.

I think I am like most everyone else in that I will follow the content.
But I admit to a nostalgic attachment to CT. Breaking up is hard to do.
This site is younger and prettier but CT and I had the memories.
PCF puts out for free. But CT and I had so much good pron together even if I did have to always have to shell out for a fancy dinner first.
I am torn. But wait, maybe I don't have to choose. I see a fantastic threesome in my future:) PCF, what do you want for dinner.....

I honestly think CT had its time, and that time has passed. Tommy has done amazing work getting everything set up here, and this site -- Poker Chip Forum -- is now what CT used to be. It's free, open, friendly, and positive. It's focused on quality casino and poker chips, chip production and creativity, and sharing your ideas, photos and experience with other chip enthusiasts.

The recent big jump in membership really brought this site to people's attention. Now that they've seen what is here, I think many will stay. I know I certainly will.

Personally, I argued strongly against commercializing CT. Once it happened, I really thought it would not be long before things really turned south.

I've had the pleasure of visiting with Tommy in person. We talked about this very issue -- what Greg was doing to make CT a cash cow for himself. This alone is enough for me. I call PCF my home base for all things chip-related now. Add what has happened recently, with some disconnect between him and the very good volunteers working hard to keep the lights on over there, and you have to ask, "Why did that happen?" and "Will it happen again in six months or a year?"

I wish Greg well, and have no unresolved issues with CT. It's just time to move on to better things.

CT = Myspace
PCF = Facebook

I'm here to stay. The only topic I'll follow at the other site is the massive GCOP Group Buy that Palm Gaming is doing for us. aside from that, why would I return to a site that's neglected its members for so long and is far inferior from a usability and feature standpoint than this one?

I am here to stay. After however many years of contributing to CT, and helping (albeit in a small way) to build the site, having features stripped because I didn't want to pay an annual fee turned me off in a BIG way. The pay for play classifieds also made what used to be a decent way to buy and sell chips absolutely worthless.

I am here to stay and will consider this my new home, I will still visit the blue wall on occasion......until it goes the way of the scott keen forum which I believe it will.....unfortunately, because there is alot of info and old pron over there

That thread is worthless it still does the perpetual load /reload....so if that was your only anchor then you are drifting in the wind my friend......back to the island that is PCF

^This^ sums it up perfectly for me (emphasis mine). It's a no-brainer decision.

CT will be merely a research tool, until the vast volume of posted knowledge there resides on here, too. Pr0n can always be re-posted.

Greg has already mentioned joining up over here, after he gets things sorted out over there. I will certainly welcome his presence and contributions here. I've never met him, but those I have and those I trust and respect say he's a great guy. So I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, although there is no question he sucks as a businessman. Lots of heavy, heavy stuff in his life, and I know first-hand how that weighs on the psyche. More now than ever, he needs friends and personal support, and I wish him well.

First 'pr0n' and now threesomes......SICK! ;)

I found that I was posting less and less on CT over the last 6 months but still visited daily to read the threads. This was due to the community feel. I found that I couldn't even read the new posts because of the problems over the last 2 weeks. So, when I found that most of the community/members who made CT what it was, had migrated to here, it was an easy decision to make. I will probably still visit CT but will make my daily visits here instead.

The king is dead, long live the king!
