I just got a shuffle stack of some minty leaded THC Paulsons in the mail, but they're so sharp it's tough to shuffle them. How should I go about prepping them for regular use / breaking them in?

In my experience, there’s an initial quick curve from dead mint to noticeably (but slightly) broken in. That can happen in as few as maybe 50 - 100 shuffles. But you might already be beyond that. Leaded Paulsons are over 20 years old - I wonder how many truly mint ones are still out there.

As to when they get comfortable? I don’t know. I think that takes a while with home use. Like maybe years, depending on how often you play. Personally I’ve gotten used to that still-sharp-not-really-comfortable stage. Which is good, because it lasts a while.

Cmon now, just shuffle them, what kinda silver bullet are you looking for??
I figured with all the oiling and murdering and everything else done with chips, there would be some way to get them to feel their best the fastest.

There is. It's called "getting the chips in play". Preferably on a regular basis. They soon transition from 'minty' to 'marvelous'.

Funny, One of my first posts here was questioning why does everybody prefer mint chips as I preferred the casino used ones instead because they weren’t stiff and could slide on the felt. Oh have I changed my mind… minty is the way and I look forward to experiencing the process.

If you find it hard a tip for mint chips is t shuffle with a small stack for the first few shuffles to just get them ever so slightly broken in. Doesn't take much, imo.

I needed this thread as I was having my morning espresso, meditating, centering...all this philosophical talk about relaxing and enjoying the journey really help set the tone for the day.

Relax and just shuffle your way through the day.
