If you change that black spot to maroon, you'll get the same color pops but the red and blue going to hit even harder.

Same spot is fine. it'll stop any harshness from the black and make the red richer. And red is a natural contrasting color with that blue. Give it a shot. I think it would work great and keep the same chip.
