I've been a bit bored lately on what to do with all my chips and chipping projects. I have plenty to play with already for my game.

For these Poseidon's, they are really cool in terms of weight and stackability... I love handling them. I don't like the inlays (like most people). I think I've decided that I'm willing to re-label them with full inlay replacements into a cash set.

My thoughts for an inlay would be something with an old school feel, like the 60's or 70's... maybe a Lake Tahoe theme given its location fits in with casinos like Jessie Beck's, Mapes, etc. I am actually thinking about making it into a cash set (fracs to 500's) even though it'll end up being something I enjoy looking at and not playing with.

Blue's for 1's, yellow's for 5's... any idea which colors to use for the other denoms?

Red $25's and Purple $100's is the way to go here if your objective is a two table cash set that can cover 1/2, 1/3, 2/5, to 5/10 stakes. Any stakes higher gets dicey given the quantities you have here.

Don’t murder them! Relabeling TRKs (or any chips, for that matter) almost always looks worse than the originals, and you can’t overlabel them because they have no recess. Plus, there are very few original tournament sets they ever produced, and there’s no possibility of them ever producing any more, since they shut down. If you don’t like the inlays, just sell them or trade them for a set you can use or “enjoy looking at” more.

Awwwwww

Id buy em back if your bored with them.
For the record not trying to be a dick at all. They are @Changster chips 100%. We traded fair and I sold the set that he traded me a while back. I have 0 claim to these chips.

I would still buy them though......... lol

Be a pity to murder them. But they would make a super cool cash set for sure.

Ever think about just relabeling one side? Changing the denom side and leaving poseidon on the other side. I dont know how different each side would look though. Never had any labeled chips. I thought about this when I owned them. Never too seriously though.

Alright...I'm not going to give you the speech about murdering TRKs, but a full label replacement feels a bit too extreme.
I recommend a sharpie touch up (see mockup below). With a steady hand, you'll be well on your way to a "touch up" work of art.

OR.....Maybe ship em to @BonScot and let him rework the face side for you. Just trying to come up with ideas to save the labels. ;) :ROFLMAO:

"It grossed $181 million worldwide on a budget of $160 million; however, after the costs of promotion and distribution, it lost around $69 million for the studio."

Mur. Der! Mur. Der! Mur. Der!

FWIW, I'm on exactly the same boat as you @Changster: have become pretty bored of and disillusioned with this hobby recently, so I've taken on a TRK murder project as probably my penultimate project.

What I would say, however, is exactly what @HaRDHouSeiNC said: if these are indeed the paper inlays, then it's just going to be WAY too much effort to murder them all by hand.

I guess you could send them for milling, but I am not sure whether there's a bit size that would work without milling some of the crowns.

Absolute dream set in this hobby would be a TRK tourney set. I absolutely love the movie! Crossing my fingers that nothing ever happens to these! Unfortunately do not have the trade bait to be in this discussion... but Brie and I do own a rack of those beautiful Black Chickens you were hunting! Lol

My opinions on murder are well known, so anything I add to the conversation probably wouldn't be very persuasive. I'll just go with what this guy said, with emphasis on both points -
TRK small crowns can not be relabled successfully in my opinion - yes people do it, but they're a far cry from factory TRKs
Good god, these particular TRKS are maybe the most exclusive chips I know of - I almost have to assume you're trolling us.

How do I tell if the inlay is paper? Just by feeling it?
Does the inlay look as though it has a laminated cover, so to speak? If not, then it's likely paper, and thus problematic to murder easily.

Do we know when these chips were made? What I've been finding with TRKs is that the more recent fantasy chips are the ones with the paper underneath them.
