BLADES (v.2) CPC Mock-ups and ideas (1 Viewer)

Okay, still need to run it past my poker crew to see if limit is something they want to do, but if I did, I would probably go £1/£2.

We currently play 25p/25p NLHE, PLO and 5-Card Draw. $25AUD Buy-in, so the betting isn't outrageous, sort of plays like a limit game I reckon as min raises aren't uncommon. However, with the manuscript for my book almost done, I hope to play poker a bit more often, so perhaps the action will open up a bit too as they get more experienced and comfortable.

We play 6-handed generally, so thought Buy-ins of £50 (no re-buys likely or desired really), but due to $$$, only 4 stacks of 50p, and 1 x £10.

500 x 50p; and
40 x £10.

Thoughts on numbers, denoms, chip patterns etc...?

Anyway, here are the 50p/£10 chip ideas and then the full line-up.

I really like the Outpost quarters and my CPC pink chips have somehow disappeared. Can someone help out with what the closest combo would be for my Blades 50p chip;

Pink with Retro Blue or Dark blue; or

DG pink with Retro Blue or Dark blue?

Leaning towards DG pink with retro blue myself.

Many thanks.

I have had a poker game for years now that we play .25/.25 with a 40 to 100 buy-in, I have at least 8 players most of the time.

This break down has worked very well for me and my players:

100 - .25
100 - 1
100 - 5
40 - 25
10 - 100

My break down after a while, and my group got larger, 10 - 16, I had to add a few more dinoms. But this works well too.

100 - .25
120 - 1
130 - 5
40 - 20
10 100

First buy-ins get all the lower denioms first then rebuys and late players get the left over 5's or 20's..

Per player @ 100 buy-in:
12 - .25
12 - 1
13 - 5
1 - 20

You dont need a .50 having .25, and you dont need 10's with 5's, it only takes two chips to make the next denom.

Nice set.

Hi CJ,
The .50 and 10 would be for limit games, not to be used with the other denoms. see post 91 :)
the other denoms already exist and I am very happy with them indeed.
cheers mate,
Adam

I unfortunatey don't have an Outpost quarter (they are awesome). When looking at my samples though, really the only combo I wasn't feeling was the regular pink with dark blue. Any other combo looked great imho and if I had to pick just based on those combos, I think DG pink with retro takes it by a nose.

Thanks mate. Yes, I think a case could be stated for DG pink and either Retro Blue or Dark Blue. Perhaps @DrStrange might be able to assist as I know he is a fan of them.

Even regular blue as it is darker than one thinks.

I LOVE regular blue (y)

I think that mock-up of the 50p chip looks like a match for the Outpost quarter. Hard to say exact match, but it would work for me.
Thanks Doc.

Now, just have to see how the idea of limit goes with my crew. I will return to this idea in due course. Thanks.

How difficult would it be, providing there is enough interest, to do another run of these Blades sets and/or the Royale-les-Eaux sets? I'm only asking as I am VERY sorry I only just stumbled onto this...

Its not difficult, but its expensive. Especially meeting cpc's minimums.

Completely understandable. I figured if there wasn't interest in another run, the idea would be dead in the water. Would a subsequent run with the same company be less expensive, as the set-up, theoretically, already exists? I have no experience in custom chips, which is the reason for all the questions. Thanks!

Hello mate,

Thanks for the interest in Blades V.2 and Casino Royale. Both sets are with new owners and were created as my personal sets, not a run as such. Any new orders are their own entity and cost the same (unless prices have risen). I have no intention of doing any further orders of these chips, but if you are after a sample, place a Wanted ad :).

Cheers on a job well done. These pieces are amazing, and any Bond collector’s dream!

Thanks mate :)
For the $1 and $5 what reds did you use in the final production set? From the photos it looks like both are Retro Red but in your initial mock up on the $1 it looks like you were slated to use the mandarin red.

I’m pretty sure Mandarin for the 1 and Retro for the 5. I can check when I get home :)
