Blades - Private Card Club (1 Viewer)

Hmmm, think I have an idea for the Limited Edition '007' chip.

You are aware there are only going to be 2 ways to store this set.
  1. High end mahogany chest with velvet lining and brass trim. Like a very large cigar box. All class. The way they would be stored at Blades.
  2. Aluminum briefcase with custom molded interior. It should also come equipped with a flick-knife, a hidden belt for buy-ins (in gold sovereigns, of course), and knock-out gas it the latches aren't rotated 1/4 turn before opening...
You thought the chips were going to be expensive...

Brilliant mate. No. 1 sounds like the go and I have an idea along those lines. However, if Red Grant turns up to play, I will need the second one, old man :). Robert Shaw, what a champion.

Process of elimination either spots 114, 112 or half pie.

I think 112 black base white spot, looks like a tux

Nice mate, it was an idea that was floated previously by Poker Zombie, and would look cool as. If the one I do is not popular, it would definitely look the goods. Your process of elimination as to the spot pattern is, er, spot on. It is one of those, but black is not in the colouring. :)

Too much time spent in the chip factory. Your chip only has one spot color so narrowed it down to those 3.

Of course, how very clever of you, Mr Stocky (strokes white cat). Perhaps, a little too clever :).

Although not terribly exciting, and potentially a let down, perhaps it might be fun to have a Bond quiz to reveal parts of the Limited Edition '007' chip. I shall ask you some simple questions, and you can answer them, or, be subjected to some unpleasant moments with Jaws or Oddjob.

So, on that note - who did Oddjob work for, and (spoiler alert :)), how did he meet his end?

Man with the golden gun? He had a shoe thrown at his head? Am I thinking Austin Powers?

Hahahahaha, that is brilliant mate. 'Random Task' was Dr Evil's shoe-throwing thug from Austin Powers, and is a 'spoof' of Oddjob :).

It was not Man With The Golden Gun :).

For having a go ...

Which Bond villian said, "This will hurt him a lot more than it will hurt me?"

A: Scaramanga (The Man With the Golden Gun);
B: Largo (Thunderball);
C: Zorin (View to a Kill); or
D: We don't care, just show us the damn chip and be done with it you ponce.

According to Google Search, the answer is C.

According to BGinGA, the answer is D.

This set is looking wonderful! You can count me I for samples too. Really diggin the limited edition chip

ETA. I think the "blood" run the LE chip should drop more in the middle than the sides

That's freaking awesome. Hopefully folks at CPC would be extra thorough about aligning the edgespots with the inlay colors.

Stop it! Every time I see this thread, I go back and eyeball my Bond Chip designs - the Blood chip is very reminiscent.

I don't need more chips...I don't need more chips...I don't need more chips...I don't need more chips...I don't need more chips...I don't need more chips...I don't need more chips...

Love the whole set. I do think the blood needs to cover more than half of the inlay area though. Something like this shape, maybe?

Hey RR, thanks for the kind words, will throw down your name on my list :). I appreciate your comments on the blood and have done up a second version with the middle extended a little lower. I think it looks good, thanks mate.

Hey Mr B, thanks mate :). I will have to have a chat with the good people at CPC about that very issue :), otherwise it will just look like someone spilt red ink on the inlay ;-). If it is possible, I am certain they can do it :).

I love this blood chip.

Thanks mate :).

:). We are all bad influences on each other. Once I have placed the order, I would love to see your Bond Chip designs, if you wouldn't mind. I have been a Bond fan since I was a young fella. It was Casino Royale that got me into poker and I bought a set of the CR chips and plaques (since sold). Then I found CT, and now PCF. Now I think I need a set of CPC chips. A very bad influence :).

Here it is with a little bit of darker grade as it descends. How does that look do you think? Is it too dark, not far enough down, too far etc... cheers.

The alpha gradient is awesome. Holy crap I might have to buy a barrel for bounties.

Cheers mate. I think I better send David (CPC) an e-mail to make sure this is possible :), as I may have to order a few more by the sound :).

Blades Blood Line-up.png
Two versions of the Ltd Ed. Each pair has the graded blood, and another with the lighter shade. #3 & #4 are slightly smoother curves. For some reason I am leaning towards either #3 or #4, more towards #4. Any constructive comments welcome :).

I'm thinking a barrel of each, a barrel of 1/4 blood, and a barrel of mostly blood - but that's me, not my wallet talking. ;)

Huge Bond fan (but only the movies!) My parents took me to my first Bond film when I was 5 (Diamonds are Forever) and it's been said that my mom's crush on Sean Connery led to my first name... At any rate, I think that watching Bond movies has had an impact on my draw to casinos and in particular the poker table! I think I will begin on the Bond books in the very near future!

This is another great example of a solid passionate idea getting bounced around among equally passionate people in areas of theme, colors, edge spots, etc. and having the end product become a "classic"!

I have been happily following the maturing of this set and woke up to the unveiling of the "007" chip and the discussions on blood patterns and darkness... Absolutely great idea and Zombie's idea on 1/2 and 1/2 (#3 & #4) solves the dilemma that I was having with choosing between 3 & 4!

From chips to cut cards to felts to ANYTHING you have a winner! Congratulations!

I'd be thrilled to be included in the Samples list!

I really like this idea. But instead of all 1/2 pies you might try a 1/4 pie chip with bottom 3/4 charcoal and the top 1/4 red. Then you could have an inlay that is about 1/4-1/3 covered on blood and another with the 1/2 pie that is approx 2/3 covered in blood. Obviously there would ultimately be a 50/50 mix of these in the final set. The new inlays with the extra drop in the center look much better IMHO. Of course, as stated before, it's your wallet we are all playing with.

That's interesting. My mom wanted to name Elvis (another obsessive crush), dad didn't like it so they settled on his middle name.....
