I came in contact with this seller through the craigslist ad posted in this thread:
http://www.pokerchipforum.com/showt...s-Horseshoe-Casino-1-chips!?p=31809#post31809

I contacted him but was not interested in the Binion chips he was selling. He mentioned that he had more chips and sent me some images. I am not looking for any of those, but encouraged him to join PCF because I was sure he could find a buyer here. He didn't seem too interested. His price expectation is around $1.50 per chip. Apologies for the cell phone pics. That's what he sent me. He appears to be in Arkansas, US. He never stated if he was willing to ship items.

Additionally, during the text conversation, the seller stated he has approx. 3000 Paulson chips. The Flamingos are chalky, and he has 500 new PNYs. Also stated he has Crystal Parks.

This only accounts for maybe 1000 chips. I am not clear on what the other 2000 chips are. I am amazed that this guy is not already on the forums... he seems like he would fit right in.

Is he selling those too? This guys is going to get a lot of responses now. :)

Have been exchanging txt with the guy since Shaggy posted this thread... My interest was actually only the Flamingos... We were to the point of exchanging PPs when he went radio silent... Must have gotten a better price... He has (had maybe?) mint $5 CPs, mint PNY $1s, $5s and $25, Le Coves and more...

I couldn't agree more! I'd certainly let him know immediately if I was canceling my bid for whatever reason... And once he had agreed with the price, as I thought he had, I would never go back... But I won't loose any sleep over it...

This above all else, is concerning... If you're negotiating a deal, and it falls through, a good seller/buyer has the decency to end the deal without radio silence...

Thanks for the heads-up anyway Shaggy! I really appreciate it...

I'll fight you for those Flamingos, Paulo!!! =)

And thanks much, Shaggy. You're awesome!

I'd like to see a good fight over some chips. Flamingos are worth an ass kickin'

Agreed on both points, but I *really* hate the part when I wake up in some dumpster in an unfamiliar part of town!

I'm not that altruistic. If I wanted the chips, or could have gotten them cheaper I would've snagged them and flipped em. Sharing them with the group was the next best option. Tommy found the guy anyway... I just contacted him.
Good luck in the fights guys.

Hey Ski!!! Man, if I knew you wanted the Flamingos, they would be yours man, no fight, hahahaha... And maybe they are indeed yours... :)

I'll be honest, I'm not happy with the seller AT ALL... We had agreed to a price in the morning and he said he was sending me his PayPal... After that, he disappeared... 9pm tonight, as I was playing poker at detroitdad's, he wrote me saying he got tied up, and really wanted a deal... I said I was in the middle of a hand and could send him the money shortly, when I had a break... He said sure, done deal, and sent me his PayPal... Two minutes before I send him the money, he wrote me back saying he had already sold the Flamingos... Not cool at all, at all... Not the buyers fault... And I hope it's you Ski... That's just to show me it's not worth it dealing with someone outside the community... I will refrain to say what I really think of him... I wish you guys all the luck in dealing with him... I'm out...

I was texting with him Thursday nite and expressed interest about some Binions....he asked how many racks I wanted, he said he had six total.....being cautious, I told him I would buy one right now and asked him to send me a list of his chips/prices and a paypal invoice for the Binions....I heard nothing for a day....then last night at 9:48 I get a text saying that he thought I was supposed to send paypal payment first and then he sends me an invoice......what???....... he had told me earlier he hasn't sold anything before but I'm leery of him, common sense says you send an invoice first and then buyer sends payment. I'm not sure why he wouldn't be willing to join this forum (as Shaggy suggested) to sell his chips or even list them on eBay....maybe he doesn't want all that hassle, but wouldn't it make more sense to sell to a wider audience and get better prices? I think I'm going to steer clear of him.

Yeah, the whole thing has a bit of an odd vibe. I have dealt with Craigslist sellers in the past who are unsure of the value of their item (generally overvaluing it) and are a bit sketchy on the details of quantity and asking price. This is the vibe I'm getting here... I'm not getting the scam vibe. Though it remains to be seen how willing he is to ship... and how well.

For this guy too, its like he wants to sell them but not deal with the "hassle" of selling them. Like everyone is bothering him with all of these questions.

Similar story, when I bought my California Bells from a local Craigslist seller, the guy would never give me a straight answer on what denoms he had and how many.
Me: "What do you have?"
Seller: "What do you want?"
Me: "What do you have?"
Seller: "I have a bunch?"
Me: "I'll take everything you have"
Seller: "Oh, I don't want to sell everything to you"
Me: "What do you have?"
Seller: "You should come out to see"
Me: "I live 45 minutes away... what do you have"

It was like pulling teeth buying from that guy. I ended up making three trips out to his place and buying about 1000 chips. Not by choice, but he would only sell me small chunks. I have no idea how many chips he had, but I think I got the good stuff.
