Biloxi Harvest (1 Viewer)

Unless Palace is turning loose of the yellow quarters, I think it’s mostly standard RHC fare.

None since Katrina harvested all the good stuff. ;)

Of course there are chips to harvest but nothing that is outstanding (mostly RHC or Bud Jones) like before Katrina wiped a lot of the casinos out and took all the great chips.

I lived there until around 2009.
After Katrina, the Hard Rock and Island View released event chips (holidays, concerts, etc). I believe HR is still releasing these chips. Worst case, you should be able to find some of the older ones.

I was in Biloxi in November 2020, and I collected singles from the casinos in the Biloxi/Gulfport area. Most of them are all older chips. Beau Rivage did have some newer chips, but I was picking through my stack while playing poker trying to find good ones. Scarlet Pearl had the newest/cleanest chips of the bunch from what I could see, but they don't have a poker room making harvesting a challenge. I just picked up a few singles from a blackjack table.

The newest chips I am aware of in MS are Casino VIcksburg, but I don't like the large large inlays.

Yeah I would see some month $1's at beau
Do you go there frequently? It looks like the Hard Rock has a new limited edition $5 chip for 2021 Year of the Ox.

I'll PM you.

Chipguide has a few of these in other Casinos, , but we may not see them all for a few more weeks until people find them.

Hey new here. When you say harvesting are you just going to he casino and paying fave value for chips and taking them home?

Yes, you pay face value for them at the casino. For getting small numbers of chips this is relatively easy as you can either buy them from a table or from the cage. In my experience, you can buy chips from the cage at a poker room, but in the main part of the casino they usually make you get them from a table.

The best way to harvest Harrah’s New Orleans is playing $4-8 limit. Buy in for two racks and sort while you play. You will not find any mint, but you can find some in decent shape. They have two molds in play: house mold and the older RHC.

They will need a bath though.

That’s cool. Is it frowned upon by the casino or do they care?

I can't imagine any casino would care about small denominations, but in they are casino property. Most of the time they just hand them over no questions asked. Most tables will sell you small numbers of chips without an issue. I usually pick up a few from a casino, so I have some to trade.

I saw a new story a while back about an issue with a $5,000 chip one poker player gave to another, and that was taken by security.

Are you just looking to get some to collect or asking about racks of chips?

More than anything I’m just curious. We spend a lot of time in MS and are surrounded by casinos so this seems like something fun to do.
