Heading out of town this weekend, sadly the poker rooms are still closed where I’m heading :( All the other table games seem to be running at limited capacity. When I ain’t playing poker I’m a big roulette guy. Was just curious what others grind roulette, and what is your go to when playing?

Isn’t roulette like the worst odds of any game running?
Shocking they keep that game running
If you play a table with a double zero, the odds are pretty bad. But a single zero gives a small edge to the casino. I've seen a lot of people win a lot of money on roulette when I worked in Vegas. The problem they had was learning when to walk away. I saw a guy turn $300 into $80k and then pissed it away.

Pretty sure that’s keno

But no. I used to play roulette. You can certainly make your money last, if you don’t bet like an idiot. But since I started playing poker in casinos, I really can’t play anything else without feeling like a sucker. I’ll still play a little roulette or blackjack if I’m looking to kill time. But if the poker room isn’t open, I’m not going. They still haven’t reopened the poker room at Encore, and I haven’t been back.

You are correct. Keno gives the house up to 40% edge (probably higher). The next to follow are slots, but those percentages vary by the type of game you play.

The takeout on roulette vs sports betting hoss racing , keno , the lottery and slots is much higher. 38 numbers on wheel. 35-1 isn’t bad. Even money on red and black odd and evenwitb only 2 house numbers out of 38. It’s a wonderful game and easy to make a score. It’s easy to win playing 26 and 28 every spin.

Roulette has volatility going for it, and thus even with the high edge 5.26% IIRC, a player has the chance to hit it big every once in a while. Blackjack has lower volatility, a lower house edge, and it’s much harder to make a 30 to 100 times your wager win.

Double 0 wheels have a fairly high house edge. Single 0 is better because there are really no strategies to exploit.

Blackjack edge got a lot better for the house since BJ payout reduced to 6:5.

I use the 6 pence system for roulette. Can work pretty well. I used to play a lot, but have since moved on to baccarat- that is, when I am not playing poker.

I play the second 12 all the time, with a few favorite numbers in the first and third. I might even do crazy bets by stacking on someone else’s favorites!
If I’m betting singles I play $2-4 per number, if I‘m betting nickels then one chip per number. Overall there‘s roughly 16-20 numbers per spin covered.
Last time I played I was up over $250.

Love Baccarat and Pai Gow poker. Last time I played was a year before covid, and I hit the Dragon7 bonus for $600 on a “bet the last chips in my hand before I leave the casino“ whim! Amazing!

Well, now triple-zero roulette tables are a thing. Single zero house edge: 2.7%; double zero: 5.25%; triple zero 7.69%. source

The wheel makers call it an "Exciting additional Zero bet for players." :ROFLMAO: source

Oddly enough triple zero gets bigger play than double zero. Players perceive the 0/000/00 section as an easy to hit green spot.
