Hey guys, been lurking for a little while now after seeing PCF get mentioned over in the wastelands of r/poker and finally decided to sign on up a week ago or so. Started playing cards on a deployment in the Navy, the guys in my shop did $5 sit-n-go's almost every night and I played every night that I could. Came home from the navy to start college, and one of my good friends mentions he was interested in getting a game going. Year later now and we have a somewhat-thriving weekly .05/.10 cash game. Always a great time but also always tough to get a game going, we've gone 8 or 9 handed a time or two but most of the time it's just 4 or 5 of the regulars and maybe 1 or 2 of the semi-regulars. Also the occasional girlfriend or dad "celebrity guest." Hoping to make some friends at school next semester that might be interested and grow our player pool a little. Only play NLHE, tried a hand of PLO once and I thought brains were going to melt, I'll try it again sometime though. Interested in learning more about some other games I'm always seeing mentioned.

Played with dice chips, upgraded to a set of Dunes CCs (so much better) and have a sample set from CPC on the way. Mainly just want to feel them, even ordering the Dunes set for our chump change game felt a little crazy. Never played in a casino (even though I'm only a few minutes away from Hollywood) or any other game at all for the matter so I've never held Paulsons or anything. But anyways, been having a good time checking out all of the cool vintage and custom chips and browsing the home game threads, already finding ways I might be able to make mine better. My table is what really needs addressed, mines a cheap market place find that I'm pretty sure would split in half if we all leaned on it at the same time.

Hello and welcome!

Interesting how keen you are to invest in expensive home equipment for a microstakes game. But if your ROI is based more on entertainment and social returns, then more power to you!

Welcome to PCF. A barrington table with an @rjdev7 custom topper seems to be a popular choice that provides a decent bang for your buck without breaking the bank. You can usually find those tables on sale or get a decent one used in FB marketplace or elsewhere to save a little more too.

One of those would fit the bill perfectly if I could find one, spent months now watching marketplace for a decent used one to turn up. Seen some pictures of those tables done up really nice! Considering a build too but would rather stay cheap.

Hello and welcome to the party!!!! I always enjoy seeing pics of everyone's home games and all the cool things that make each home poker room unique!

Plenty of build threads on here too. One thing this site will teach you is patience, exactly what you want is rarely immediately available but if you keep plugging away things will work out.

You may want to set up an alert for the "not mine" thread as folks will often post good table and chair finds on there that the see on places like marketplace, craigslist, etc.

Thanks! And yes, all social, just trying to get the friends together for a good time. Like I said, felt crazy ordering those Dunes for a nickels-and-dimes game but they've been well worth it between how much they've improved the aesthetic/feel of the game and how often they're used. Don't need the nicest stuff, just don't want junk stuff either.
