Just like the title says... what's the best free app to learn how to play craps?

If I'm at a casino, you'll normally find me seated at a poker table. But when I'm visiting Vegas with a group of friends, I don't want to be anti-social and just tuck myself away at a poker table for hours on end. So I'd like to exercise my "social gambling" muscles and learn craps a bit better.

Any suggestions?

Not free but for $1.99 “Aw Craps!” is an awesome app to play and test out different strategies and scenarios!

I am learning the game before a trip to Vegas in February with @SJFCPK18. I’ll be staying at Ellis Island, which has $5 Craps tables. My current favorite and most likely strategy to employ is the iron cross, but with field-bet winnings used to press the 6&8, and collecting from box numbers.

As for free resources, @Okku recommended this YouTube page, and I like it also. The 30-roll craps challenges are fun to watch!

Hi Shleepy.

Whatever you choose, it’s real easy to learn the best bets to make. What does that mean? Making bets that pay as close to the true odd of winning as possible. Example - if a one roll bet on 12 pays 31 to 1, it’s a crappy bet! True odds are 36 to 1.

Every bet in the middle of the table has huge advantage for the house. I never play em.

Best bets? Pass line or don’t pass with full odds behind. The house has less than a 1% advantage on those. Come bets are the same thing. Do it. If you are wanting to make place bets, go with 6 and 8. It’s about 2.8% advantage for the house. Only other decent bets are Field if it pays triple for rolling a 12.

Horn if it’s your roll, and press it if you win LOL

Haha. From the Wizard of Odds about anything besides what I listed above.

“There are lots of other bets in craps, but they are all either obscure or carry a high house edge. You can get by easily, and join in on the fun, with just the bets described above. Lest the dealers tempt you into making a sucker bet, you should know that every bet in the middle of the table is a sucker bet.”
