Best / Fastest Way to Remove Label Residue? (2 Viewers)

15 minutes in and the label is easier to scrape but it’s still pretty stubborn.

Will leave it for an hour and see if it’s any easier…

For gummy residue (not hardened, crispy glue) the very best stuff is called Bestine. Used it for years. No residue like goo-gone.

It's 100% heptane, which is not harmful to surfaces. Amazing stuff.
Crazy thin and flammable, evaporates in a flash with no residue.
If you breathe in enough of it, you can change lightbulbs that are way up without a ladder.o_O

It's not harmful like acetone, but very effective at removing adhesives.
 
After leaving the chips overnight I can conclude the following…

None of these methods work… at all.

What a waste of time

As a side note, the WD40 chip looks a lot cleaner so I might have stumbled on something here…

Ironic, given that the reason I know vinegar (sour wine) dissolves lead is because of the ancient Romans, who noticed that sour wine stored in lead vessels tasted sweeter.

TL;DR -- don't put vinegar on a leaded chip.

Yeah we had to tolerate sarcasm from our teachers written in Latin for some reason. I was no stranger to seeing this written on my homework in red ink followed by a demotivational sentence :ROFL: :ROFLMAO:
