This is going to get running soon. The relabel class is almost done (quarterfinal vote ends tomorrow) and the fully custom class backet will be on to the field of 16 soon.

As I mentioned, each class winner gets a #1 seed in their own corner of the bracket. @markleteenie won the Ceramic/Hybrid class and @gopherblue won the Hotstamp/Open class. I am going to run a RNG to assign quadrants of the main bracket.

Okay, so there you have it. Once the last two classes are decided, I'll run a RNG on the entire field of 80 chipsets and fill in the blanks in order (#1 and #2 will be the first play-in game in the Vesper Club Region (with the winner to match up against the Vesper Club), #3 and #4 will be a first-round match up in the Vesper Club Region, #5 will be a first round see in the Vesper Club Region, with #6 and #7 being the second play-in game of the Vesper Region (and the winner advancing to play #5)). Region 1 (Vesper Club Region) will play Region 2 (Relabels) in the semifinals while Region 3 (Fully Custom) will play Region 4 (Coyote Gulch Region).

We'll start with 16 play-in games (32 chipsets) to get down to a field of 64. As a reminder, ties will result in a two-day runoff vote rather than a RNG flip (if they tie a second time, an RNG flip will decide it).

I'll combine to one bracket once we get down to the final 16 chipsets.

Starting June 6 and for the following four weeks, the opening round of a Region will be posted on Sunday (8 votes) and the second round will be posted on Wednesday (4 votes). Voting will resume on July 25 (8 votes). Championship will be from August 4-7.

The biggest class bracket (Relabels) is now done (congrats again, @Hornet) and the fully custom chipsets will be down to 8 entries tomorrow. A week form Saturday the random draw for the winner of the main bracket.

Just FYI, so I can get a jump on things, when we are in the fully custom bracket finals, I am going to run the randomizer. The winner will be seeded at the top of the bracket, the loser will be defined as 'Fully Custom Runner-Up' for seeding purposes. This will give me a few extra days to prep the 80-team bracket.

Brackets will still be announced on Saturday (May 29) and voting threads will go up on Sunday (May 30) but when I post the random.org screencaps, the datestamp will show earlier and the runner up will not be shown specifically.

OP updated with expected vote dates and RNG seedings numbers, in case you didn't read the post on how I'm going to seed the main bracket.

Excellent work, @WedgeRock! I'm really enjoying these competitions, can't wait for the main event!!

Everybody ready for matchups to be announced on Saturday?! I've already run the RNG and there are some interesting matchups.

The Fully Custom bracket winner will become official on Saturday morning, then the main bracket seedings will be announed. Voting opens on Sunday for the play-in games in the Vesper Club and Carnevale regions, Wednesday for the Fully Custom (will be renamed once we have a winner) and Coyote Gulch regions.

The four #1 seeds have been finalized. The remaining 76 chipsets have been randomly placed. Here are the random numbers run (note: these were run before the fully custom bracket was complete, so the runner-up in that bracket is not named):

Seeding 20-38.png
Seeding 39-58.png
Seeding 59-76.png

I placed the randomized list into the brackets, creating the following matchups:

3Rainier Room.png
4CoyoteGulch Region.png

Each region will play down to 4 chipsets, then we will combine for four regions into one bracket:

Play-in games in the Vesper Club and Carnevale regions will start tomorrow. The dates for the other votes are listed on the brackets above.

So...all of the polls in the last few weeks were just a pre-tournament tournament?

I write, no one reads.

The thought was that if we ended up with a Final 8 of all custom CPCs, people would complain that their hot stamp/ceramic/relabel never had a chance.

So I ran a bracket for each class, before running the main event.

Congrats to @Ben8257, @RoyalBluff, @SpaceMonkey, @slisk250, @MegaTon44, @Psypher1000, @Josh Kifer and @raynmanas for advancing to the field of 64.

I love this idea, and clearly a ton of work has gone into it.

But I'm getting lost in all of the brackets, and different categories and wow. A lot.

Is there any way to have one link for photos of each set, that get posted in each match-up? Rather than having the chip owners post photos every time? It's unsatisfying to go into a match-up and have there be no photos there. There are several match-ups ending today, I went in to vote, and no photos. So...I didn't vote.

I think by the end of this thing, this problem will be even worse. Possible to identify one link per chip set that contains the photos, and include those links with the match-up thread?

I am not up to the challenge if it's harder than that.

If I did it again, I would require everyone to submit one photo of the set, and that photo would get posted with the voting thread. (Actually, if I did it again, I'd run it the way @Sprouty did his vote with everyone in one big bracket and the top X vote-getters making it to the bracket.)

As for all the brackets, there is only one bracket running (the main bracket, all classes are done), but I broke the main bracket into four regions for readability.

Also, with the exception of 2 of the 80 sets, all of them have been posted already. You should've seen them already or can find them relatively easy. Like you, though, I have skipped some votes because pictures haven't been posted, and I don't want to vote just from memory. Sometimes I come back and there's pics, sometimes, the vote closes without pics.

I think as we advance further, set owners are more vested in the outcome and more likely to post pictures. I'm also trying to give a heads up to the vote, so the participants are prepared to post pics.

Congrats to @gopherblue, @Nuhockey, @WhiteMamba1646, @SeanGecko, @Odranoel77, @Jasap47, @MarquetteMonkey and @Himewad for advancing to Round 2 of the Vesper Club Region.
