I know a lot of folks make Member chips, unique card cappers, maybe bounty chips, but I'm wondering if there was anything I was missing or random niche chips you guys decided to add to your sets.

There's a "show em" and "f*ck you" chip I believe I have seen which I may introduce to our cash games. Basically, the "show em" would allow a player to force someone to show their hand instead of muck after the pot is awarded; the "f*ck you" chip would block the "show em" chip when played. This is what I gathered from reading about it, but I really like the idea, especially in a more casual/friendly game setting. It's possible I interpreted it wrong though if anyone wants to clarify.

Haha this is an awesome idea! How would distributing these work? Do you get only 1 per game or something?

Seating chips. I use them for every game cash or tournament.

Also we use the seating chip as a show em or rabbit hunt chip as well sometimes.

Sorry this is a noob question lol, do you not draw for seats/the button then? How do the seating chips work

@detroitdad might be time to share the story of the "Make It a Double" chip again brother.

"Rabbit hunting" chip means you want to see the rest of the board even if everyone folded.

"NACHO cheese" chip which you will be seeing in person next weekend @moechar .... invented by @Irish (actually he just has the Nacho cheese dispenser, I just made up the chip...) if I play a Nacho chip and win the pot... your ass has to get up and get me some more Cheezzee!! Lmao

The problem with drawing cards for seats is that often not everyone is there at the start of the game. It just seems unclean and a pain in the butt to draw cards as well. The seating chips have an ND side and the other side has the seat number. People choose a seating chip and grab the appropriate seat. As people arrive they can draw from the remaining chips. The chip can be kept as a card capper or as a show em or bounty chip etc as well.

If you draw the #1 seat that is first dealer, no need to draw for the button buddy! Basically seating chips are used to randomize the seating. From my experience only used in tourney play but I guess you could impose a rule for cash... for the most part you sit where you want for a cash game.

I would not like to see them used for cash personally. Pick your poison.

This might be the most necessary chip in my game, and most exciting LOL. I don’t have the nacho cheese machine, but having to go get someone a snack or a drink sounds like an awesome idea.

Ohhhh I see, that is very very useful for tournaments. But maybe not very common in cash? Just guessing here haha

Correct. I am apparently unusual in that we do seating for cash game. Which continues to surprise me. In our cash games there are clearly advantages to position over the fish/ATMs or our super aggro players. We have played together for years and people would perpetually switch seats if it was allowed. Or they would show up or buy in late just for position.

Yep...............I like to keep the seating random. Plus I get to use my Parks and Rec seating chips!

What if you draw the seat between myself and @Irish and we have been pounding Whiskey and Nacho Cheese for four hours and the air quality isn't up to your liking.... are you not allowed to get up and take the seat at the other end of the table?

Or say you are @detroitdad and decide to sit between @inca911 and @k9dr ? Ask Bill or @Lil Tuna about it... not a great decision. After they bust you up for six buy ins... is it not ok to move to Mark's left and get some breathing room? Lol

None of our games play forced seating in a cash game

Hmmm I dunno these sound extremely personal... almost like you've been in both of those spots LOL

Jk, I see where you're coming from hahaha

I rarely run two table events. When I do, I don't have a problem if two players want to change tables. As for seat changes during my one table cash games, well, this has never came up or has been an issue.

I like the randomness that is forces. Before the seating chips came into play everyone sat in the exact same seats. That gets boring.

This hasn't been an issue for a few years. I had one guy specifically that would always sit in position to the fish at the table. I didn't like that, so the seating chips came into play and I haven't looked back.

If you were at my game and were taking a beating at the table. You asked to change seats because you "thought" that would help. I would absolutely allow it.

So I started thinking ok... gotta get serious on the cheese chip... somethin like

But then I found this...

Fine... someone already made one... story of my life, a day late and a dolla short!

My homegame is still young and we only just started introducing new game variants, but I could see a “Switch It Up”-chip being fun.
Get one at the start of the evening and play it whenever you want to switch games, with an added factor maybe making the new game a random draw?

Right now we switch to PLO once someone points out NLHE has orbited a couple times without anything interesting happening, but I could see this being fun :)

But also we should do a "Taco bell" chip...
download.png

One gets added to every pot over a buy in... (if buy in is $100, every pot when it hits $100 you throw in a Taco bell chip!) Every time you accumulate (5) Taco bell chips... you get your lucky ass up and go buy 3 - 4 party 12 packs because well...

This is America, we are all hungry and it's the right thing to do! Yes I am ok if you want to order Door Dash but your ass is getting up to go grab it and pay!

Sorry guys I had to! Lmfao

Out!!! I haven't eaten Taco Bell in over a decade. I'm not about to start now!

Switch It Up”-chip being fun.

That's what a "Treat Yo Self" chip is for. Call whatever game that you would like as long as it matches the number of players at the table.

I haven't had any TB in quite sometime myself Bill... that is more @FordPickup92 thing. But after hours of drinking I am not sure if you saw that 2:30 am excuse for a burger that I ate with @Seeking Alpha Social Club ... it was like 5 tiny broke off charred pieces that had been sitting in that warming tray for two days. The left over burnt parts that nobody else wanted. I had to add a 4 hour old hot dog to help wash down the crispy saw dust that someone claimed was the remminents of a burger.

At that particular moment... Taco Bell is sounding pretty damn delicious! Lmao

Some day I might add a "Bonus" chip to my line up.

The "Bonus" can be whatever you want to make it. In a tourney it can be used as a bounty, cash you can use it for a "bonus board" or double board for the next hand. Or, whoever wins a hand with a certain predetermined card will receive a bonus chip and at the end of the night the person with the most bonus chips gets a prize.

I figured "Bonus" is generic enough to be used for just about anything.

I hadn't thought about drawing for seats in a cash game, but I like the idea - for home games, anyway. In a casino of course a big part of playing good poker is finding the fish and sitting downstream. But in a home game I wouldn't want that kind of jockeying for position, along with the subtle (or not-so-subtle) implications about each player's skills and tendencies. By drawing for seats you can give everyone a fair chance at sitting in the sweet spots while also keeping the atmosphere friendly.
