I have a question for you meet-up participants from the US.
Did any of you fly WOW Airlines?
I am looking for flights to Copenhagen and WOW airlines comes up with some really cheap flights and I had never heard of them. Google tells me they are a low cost carrier out of Iceland.
May be a stupid question, but their flights are so much cheaper it makes me wonder why and if I should move on to another airline.

Thanks
Bill
WOW is a great airline. They now boast a 75% chance of not crashing. Good things are happening there. :p

(seriously though, never heard of them)

I have been following aviation press since my teen years and have been flying, as an adult, to places I wouldn't like to fly if it wasn't part of my job (including to Kabul, Afghanistan). I never became a pilot, but I am good friends with some of them, both Air Force and civilian ones.

Seriously, I would never fly any low-cost airlines, even if they were based in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina:LOL: . I even dislike flying any non national-caliber airline of any nation.

Prayers should be preceded by some right act.:)

When does meetup season end?
I would go with the calendar year. SQM would be the kick-off, and the end would be the last big* meet-up in September/October.

*I'm defining big as 2 tables, with 50% or more attendees being non-regulars. This however, is being quite arbitrary. I could also define a meet-up as "Any event where Forrest taught someone OFCP".

Following these standards I think I will be the first PCF'er to host two meet ups in one calendar year?

I'm more of a, 'there's never a bad time for a meetup' kind of guy, so I view it as more of a continuous thing, rather than a beginning and an end.

But how do you make a PCF World Tour shirt?

Otherwise it is like tennis. The tennis pros play continuously, but the Australian Open in January is considered the start of the season and the ATP finals in November is generally considered the end. There are still matches going on, players travelling, and prize money earned between November and January, but it doesn't get the same coverage as it is "out of season".

In the same way, Meetups have a distinct drop-off after October as people focus more on family around the holidays.

I was just wondering the same thing. We had our interviews Friday for the Global Entry program - would have been useful when we returned from Iceland.

I remember that.

Some people bounce back, others get stuck in despair. Gunnar was one of the best... great attitude, excellent family, a good head on his shoulders. I only hope he has recovered, and his absence from PCF is just his way of keeping clean.

I leave it up to more personable types to make the direct connections... maintaining personal connections has always been my weak spot.

I hope Gunnar & his family are doing well and things have turn around for them.

This is really the only meetup I have deep regrets for not attending. :(
