Hey everyone,

I recently noticed a couple of my KEM decks are now warped due to humidity. They were left out in the open. Only one or two cards in the deck are warped (see photo) but I was wondering if there is any easy way to get them back to normal. I’ve tried weights/bending and that was unsuccessful.

I don’t want to trash the deck over one/two cards. Hope there is some remedy out there!

Humidity is the enemy of Kems.

I use KEMs in Miami where we play outdoors every week and every week is humid. We see slight bowing but nothing this bad. Were they left in direct sunlight?

Usually stored upside down with a cut card and dealer button on top of the deck will fix mild warping, but these are too far gone sadly.

You can try flattening them out. Put them in a corner with several heavy thick textbooks on top. Forget about them for about several months. When you finally remember them, they're probably going to be flat.

Not to deter you from Kems, but humidity is their natural enemy. Kems always warp for me quickly (I live that close to Lake Erie so humidity is just a fact of life here). I tried Fournier once, and fell in love. Never bought another Kem setup after that.

My current attempt. Been in the clamps for a month and will stay until I can host again or I need more clamps for a woodworking project. LOL.

Good luck! That happened to me a few years ago and I ended up just trashing them. I did find that I could put them under a book and then put a rack of chips on top of them at the end of the night. That helped, but after awhile, and a couple of times leaving them on the table, it was too much of a pain to deal with.

In the 17 years I have lived in humid VA, only the Kems have ever done that. I was surprised when it first happened because my cards are always in the basement, which gets a ton of AC in the summer and rarely feels humid.

Same here. Such a shame as Kems are my favorite cards, but I will never buy another deck again.
That's exactly where I'm at. Casino Kems in particulr, are the greatest thing since sliced bread. But giving them special attention in hopes that they don't warp, and checking them every time, with a vague sense of dread - aint nobody got time for that.

They are awesome, casino kems in particular. Totally agree.

I bought a double deck of OLG Casino Sault Ste Marie about a year ago. Was excited. But, alas, they bowed after a few months too. That was the last straw for me.
