I am always look for Casino De Isthmus chips on eBay, I have a really nice 1998 T&C mold Isthmus cash set with the .50 chips.
I came across this add:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/007-James-B...7702&clkid=5911094139928084939&_qi=RTM2067267
I REELY do not believe these are from the movie, I remember seeing a thread with a picture of the actual movie prop chips a few comments down from the top on CT:
http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/threads/casino-de-isthmus-shaped-inlays-value.42261/
What do you guys think??
I have contacted him and he said that HE is an expert and has written 2 books on the subject...He also said that these acme from the Pinewood Studio's after the film production was broke down...
Any way I am VERY carouse to find out what you ALL think..
Thanks, Have fun..

Unless there is some kind of certified proof that they are from a movie set they are not worth any more than the sample sets I have at home. Sounds
Iike the seller is a fiction writer to me.

No cert from reputable place = no buy for me.

Here is a screen of the $10 chips. I seen those from time to time on eBay.

I gave him another chance to change his listing.

You mention in your ad that these were used in the production of the movie "Licence to Kill".

I just thought I'd let you know that these were made by the same manufacturer as the movie prop chips, but as part of a line of home gaming chips in 1998 (I bought one of their sets, and have around 900 of these chips in my collection). They used the same design, but changed the color of the inlays from red to blue. (The $1 chip is a 3rd iteration by their spin-off company BCC or Blue Chip Company from a few years ago).

The real movie props have a red design on the inlay, or are single color (no edgespots). Though these chips have certainly increased in value since they were first sold, they aren't worth $99.99. Their true value is probably around $3-4 per chip.

Dear reelart,

I am not interested in those, but that is cool that you got those. (He said he purchased Wyatt Earp Casino Chips from Alaska and I could buy them for $500 each)

I have researched these chips also and I got my 500 piece set for $580 10 months ago.
Paulson who is the manufacturer of all of these chips except the $1 chip (this 1 is made by a company called BCC) made these chips for home use based on the movie chips that they also made.
The movie chips have 6 different chips that have no edge spots and no shaped inlays, the $10, $50, $100, and $500 chips all have shaped inlays and edge spots, and the $10000 Plaque is plain white with black text.

I am not trying to be an asshat, I have done a lot of research because I wanted a playable set for my home poker game. I also have closed casino poker chips, and have been dealing in chips for 5 years now.

On these chips the guy from Pawn Stars is wrong, I will put MONEY on it..
Best of luck,
These are nice chips but NOT props....

Sir we are all entitled to our opinions. I have dealing in props and artifacts for over 25 years and have several $100 thousand in artifacts. I actually specialize in 007 and used to have a license for their items to make them. I have written a book about license to Kill and the collectables from the film and was given information directly from studio. These came directly from Pinewood Stuidios and Eon production. I received them myself. If that is not proof than nothing will be. You are intuited to your opinion I appreciate that. You must also appreciate my knowledge and the wisdom of others. My association with the experts on Pawn Stars has nothing to do with these items in particular. Since you are not buying them I am not sure what your concern is. I appreciate your thoughts but I do have complete authentication from the studio itself in the matter and for me it does not get much better than that. Do you have authentication from the studio for yours? Why don't we just say we disagree in this matter on this issue. Like I said I appreciate not only your input but all collectors knowledge on things.

if someone is dumb enough to buy them, so be it, I dont think we should be in the business of policing eBays sellers. lot of legwork for a poor return on our time investment.

this only makes our Paulsons more valuable anyways.

just my 2c

I disagree.
This guy has crossed the line. This isn't just mis-leading, which would be bad enough.
Its false advertizing and dressed up to be convincing enough so that a reasonable person would expect that these are actually from the movie and worth $99.
His response to chipjoker makes me think its intentional and he knows exactly what the chips really are.
These people are scum in my book.

I disagree.

We can't police all of eBay, sure... but we can protect the chipper community.

Fraudulent chip claims are fraudulent, and the chipper community is the most likely group to know it when it sees it - so the community should act to protect the game.

I 1000% agree with this, informing the chipping community is the reason why we all come the sites, but I personally dont think messaging eBay sellers asking them to change their price or informing them their product is not what they think it is And this especially applies for the highly rated (1000+ transaction) sellers, like in this instance.

What the seller fails to realize is that just because those home-market chips came from the studio doesn't mean that they were used as props in the movie. He may actually have been a victim of a scam himself when he purchased them.

It obvious that he is misrepresenting them...knowingly or not.

There's also a flag/report/whatever button to report fraud to eBay. If enough people do that, I'll bet they notice.
I think if you are inclined, this is the approach

what i was getting at from my post was that sending a message to the seller is not going to yield a very high/positive return ratio

This is one is good too. Just saying.

Earlier I submitted the one that Tommy proposed however I think the one Nomad posted is better. The little verbiage that is next to the "i" in Tommys seemed inappropriate for this situation.

I got a reply back from the seller...LOL

I sent him this link..(thinks it's my site I guess)

You guys are something. If you just watch the title sequence from film you will see that my chips are in it not the style you show on your site. They were used later on in film. I suppose they were added those in after film also? Really I think the studio knows what items they used better than everybody. You guys really need to get a life. I have 50 people now contacting me about this and none has even taken time to watch film. Please leave me alone. I will no longer answer any more of your emails. Just watch film yourself for real answer. It is in the title sequence.

I submitted a counterfeit item report, and sent the seller a message re: misrepresentation and fraudulent statements in his auctions.
