Well here we are! My new custom set dedicated to my two Australian Shepherds, Jazz and Lambeau. This idea came to fruition at the beginning of the year when my wife and I got our new puppy, Lambeau (the black tri). I brainstormed ideas, knowing at the end of the day something of sentimental value was the way I wanted to approach this set. I also wanted to challenge myself to come up with something unique and perhaps a little unconventional.

One evening in January I was playing with my older pup when I looked at my wife and said, "Aussie Nights". What started as a joke has now become a reality. I looked through countless custom sets while designing my own. I noticed most sets revolve around a card room or game when named. I decided to go for what was most unique to me and name mine around an idea or a feeling I guess you could say. What Aussie Nights means to me is the time spent with my wife, my dogs, making memories with them.

Now into the design phase. A tournament set was the obvious choice as that is what my group primarily plays. As you'll see below, every chip other than the bounty is 3DSA316. I'm a big fan of uniformity and that factored heavily when making my final decision. I bought myself a CPC color sample and went to work on the design tool. I used so many of your guys sets as inspiration, you have no idea. I made every effort possible to string together my own unique color set but each time I came up with a combination I loved I realized somebody here or some casino had done it before. It look me a long time to realize that almost everything has been done before. With that in mind, I eventually settled on what I liked and said **** it. I'm sure you will see some obvious inspiration in my set :)

With my colors set, I reached out to J5 to design the inlay. I told him my ideas and expressed that I wanted the inlay to revolve around an Australian Shepherd surrounded by a forest of redwoods in the stars. The redwoods were a way to pay homage to my home in Northern California, the Redwood Empire area. I quickly realized that it would be important to bring in a different point of view and reached out to @Irish for help. I told Matt his Barrel House set was one of my all time favorites here and asked if he would be willing to consult for me. He happily obliged. Matt, without your input, I probably would've just settled on the first proof I liked and wouldn't have focused on the many nuances we talked about. I am truly appreciative of your help, thank you :). There isn't much to say about J5 that hasn't been echoed here already. A true professional and a very talented artist, thank you J5.

Alright lets see some photos thats what we all care about isn't it! BTW apparently you guys are all like amateur or professional photographers, here's me taking photos with my wife's iPhone lol. I hope you guys enjoy. I don't post a ton, but I've been a constant lurker since I joined last year. I am happy to be a part of this community.

Amazing. The t100, t500, and T1k are all absolute stunners. Exactly how it should be for those denoms. Love the color match on the inlay too. Great job.

Absolutely gorgeous! I love every chip, and the whole set just flows perfectly! Congratulations!

Thank you! The funny part about the color matching is that it wasn't something I requested or ever considered initially. J5 mocked up the blurple first and sent me some proofs, one of which had the trees matching the base color of the chip. We moved forward immediately with that idea after I saw that initial mockup.

Wow, John did an absolutely fantastic job on those inlays, the color matching & highlighting is spot on perfect. These came out sooo good, I really hope you and your wife love them.

ps - love the look on Jazz's face. It's the same look my 12 year old son gives us when we're trying to take his picture lol

Annual birthday tournament is on the 25th, I can’t wait to really break these in. Played the wife heads up last night just to get them in play. The T100 really pops in person with some oil, I’m torn between the T100 and T5000 as my favorite chip. Thank you guys for the all the kind words, it means a lot!

Wow!! Loving the colours and tribute to your loyal Aussie canines! I bet you’re going to find it hard to put these babies down!! Enjoy and congrats on creating such an aesthetically pleasing set!

Curious, is there any discernable weight difference in hand between the dayglow base color chips and the "weighted colors" chips ?
In my opinion, no...I really can’t feel the difference. Others with more experience might be able to but I definitely can’t.
