26 years ago Jerry Garcia passed. I had just received my mail order tickets for Boston Garden. They were to have been the last shows played at the place we called our house.

I was sitting in the back of a cab in France. I understood just enough French to comprehend that he had passed, from what I heard on the radio. I remember crying a little, I was young and it was going to be my second set of shows, with plans to tour after. I can’t find my tickets right now, but I framed one of the posters…

Yeah, one of those days for heads where you remember where you were when you heard the news. I was driving on the freeway listening to the radio. The DJ broke the news and I kept thinking he was joking because I was in disbelief. I really got pissed off until it finally sunk in and I had to pull off to the side of the freeway.

Thanks for posting this @legend672, hard to believe that it’s already been that many years already. Tickets prices then of $30. When I first saw them tickets were $6.50!!

Went to see Bob Weir that night at club casino. Bombs Away opener. Touching Blackbird too. Even the Hampton Beach police were very kind to everyone. Very emotional day. My dad said the phone hadn’t stopped ringing. Work had already replaced me as they knew I wouldn’t have been able to be there that day.
